  1. Decided to make my own chassis mounted engine mounts The machining begins many hours later mocking up for tubes to be scalloped

Freshened the front suspension new shocks and lowered springs and new wheel bearings Freshened the rear end New wheel bearings , drums and shoes added some 2" blocks and swapped the diff ratio from 4:1 to 3:5 for better cruising speeds Purchased these from billy fronts 13 x 6 widened steels rears are 13 x 7 with 175/50/13's fitted

Bought this 2L Pinto SOHC 205 o-ringed and de-burred Bruce Manon designed Block Shot peened crank 5.7 long Chev (Crower) rods Forged short skirt pop top CP pistons Genuine RL22 Kent cam Leading Edge big valve 1600 head with Matched inlet manifold and Twin side draft 45 Weber's Vernier pulley Electric water pump Bosch/lumenition distributor (re-curved) Ali flywheel 2" Big bore extractors with anti reversion stubs Spare set of pistons / rods / rings Nice big aluminium radiator was included Trial fit unfortunately the extractors don't fit and wont be able to be modified to fit so they've been sold. Engine back out and will be packed away until I need it

  12. Purchased some free flow extractors had them sandblasted and then painted with VHT Also came with support to brace onto the gearbox , should keep the exhaust secure and reduce any cracks Also picked up some fibreglass quarter bumpers If only the real deal chrome ones weren't so pricey

Struts back from silver paz and have been de-embrittled Cant buy off the shelf du-bushes so had to machine the O.D of these very tricky as it kept catching the split on the bush then self destroying. Made a mandrel and had a hose clamp around the bush and took small cuts until I finally had 4 bushes. Bushes in bilstein shocks in , 300lb 2.25" 9" long springs Next to make are top hats and get some hubs. Also might need keeper springs to get nice and low
  15. All very valid points above ^ I cant get my head round it either , looks like the daily will have to give up its suspension to pass the cert... What are you going to do about yours mfordy to get it road legal ? Oh and little update, paints on hold until clints given it the check over at the end of august

  19. Cheers pe-arce , Its Now a 1600 with 5speed , adjustable suspension , wildwood brakes , quickrack , redone interior , 13x7 superlights , has just developed to become a more useable car but still keeping its period looks. I'll keep the photos coming.
  20. Yeah Cheers sheepers , Ive heard about this, still don't understand why but Ive already done it and Im booked in for a cert with Clint in August so we can work around it then. I have since made some more adjustables for my daily car but didn't put the gussets on them. If it becomes a major I can always swap out the ones from the daily car. Weird thing is I know of a few cars that have been certified with gussets and others that cant pass cert because of the gussets. When did that rule come in to effect ?
