Sales of new cars in the UK have slumped to a 12-year-low and production of cars at Honda in Swindon has been halted for a unprecedented four-month period because of the collapse in global sales and represents the longest continuous halt in production at any UK car plant. The announcement comes on a day when the EU's Industry Commissioner Guenter Verheugen warned the outlook for the European car industry was 'brutal' and predicted not all European manufacturers would survive the crisis

  2. Hi Guys

Anyone put their old skool car down the strip? as I just want a comparison with my escort 2L to see if its good/bad/rubbish in the performance stakes.

I have a Gtech unit that will fit most cars & reckons mine will do

    15.6 sec @ 141kmh for 400m

It was at about 17.5 before some head work. So it made a difference.

This isn't for bragging rights. I am just curious what other cars do so just honest answers wanted?

Anyone know what a stock 1600 escort or cortina /sierra 2L would do it in?

If some one in the HB wants to get a baseline before doing some mods I could put the Gtech in and do a few runs (on closed streets and controlled conditions of course) for your info. just requires a cigarette lighter accessory to power it.

    Let me know

Can I try it out in my golf gti?
