Ive been kindly donated a set of 1988 Toyota Crown Wheels for free, that look suitably pimp and retro and look good against the van. I may even run them with some whitewalls??? Heres those rims................. Trial view............. With my friends Nissan Vanette............... Someones trying to out do my van for size lol................

LOL cheers for the comments guys Yes this will turn into my room at Riverside while im here...... just gotta build it first lol The body of the van will not be changed and the stripes are staying (and they are actually red and blue not purple) I was only gonna remove the stripes if they were peeling off but they are actually spot on and I like them!! Steels and whitewalls are an option but I have just been given a set of these for free today from a 1988 Toyota Crown which really suit the van! Whitewalls with these???....................... I am missing 1 centre cap tho if anyone can help me out????

Yep I finally found a cool van I went all the way down to Dunedin to pick up this (and have a few drinks with an old friend from the UK lol). Picked it up for a reasonable $3000. Spec: 1988 JDM Toyota Hiace Super GL 2.4 Diesel 209000km from new Automatic Long Wheel Base Electric windows Power steering Air Con Alarm Chrome Now its time to convert it to a full camper so i can live and travel in it for the rest of the year! Oh and I might do a few little retro mods too........... thinking something like this............

WOW........ what can i say!!! For me (being from the UK) it was an amazing day out!! Never seen so much retro Jap Metal together at once!! And what a collection........... so many awesome cars out there! Thanks to all the guys for including me in this event and was really cool to meet all of you and see all your rides!! I took over 450 pics that day so will take a while to sort!! Ill get pics up very soon! I prob wont post up all the pics but dont panic those who wanted copys just pm me and ill see what I can do for you!! Cheers all

Hi all As you can see Im currently staying in Nelson with friends and will be about for a few months at least! I was wondering if there were any peeps on here in the Nelson area and knows of any car meets etc (organised or not) as I would love to get involved and hang out with likeminded people while im here?? Ive seen loads of really cool retro stuff crusing about here so there must be someone?? LOL Its kinda strange for me here as back home i was involved in the local and national car scene there for years and knew LOTS of people because of it! Here i know less then 10 people and none are really in the car scene! Can anyone save me lol

I may still be around the area so i maybe there!! Would be cool to meet some of you guys since im here!!

I only used FaceBook as i have the pics avaliable for my friends to see back in the UK and we all use FB. I know the cars are prob the norm for u guys here but its not often we get to see some of the stuff we see here!! I love all the old stuff in NZ! As big engines are really expencive to run in the UK there arnt many V8s etc commonly seen on the streets there! Its awesome to see some of these just crusing about!! Love it!!

Trust me its better here and much nicer with quieter roads I think im starting to get used to it but speaking to some of the locals, if there is a gap you go in it lol

HAHA!! Have u ever driven in the UK then HAHAHA!!! To be honest its a lot better on the roads over here.......... maybe because there are lots less cars on the road?? The main thing Im struggling to get to grips with is the priority when turning across traffic if the opposite traffic is also turning!! Locals will know what i mean!! It just feels wrong!!! lol

Well I currently have 3 cars at home.......... My Corolla, a 1985 300ZX Turbo Manual and a shortened 1977 Mini Clubman so they all very different to drive anyway!! Ive had a big auto before as i used to drive a 1991 4.0 Jaguar XJ6!! The car is fine and goes well...... its just getting used to the few different rules over here that im getting to grips with LOL

Well Im hoping to come down from Nelson from this as ide love to get involved in the car scene over here!! Ive loved looking at all the old skool stuff floating about on the streets.............. its just not the same in the UK!! Unfortunately ill prob be turning up in a 1994 Holden but remember ive got a cool KE70 back at home lol!! Please dont hold that against me lol Hope to see u in the New Year!!
