  1. So this is the current proposal getting chucked around on the Dunedin toyspeed forum. Oldschool should definitely get in on this!

So just an idea at the moment but will go ahead with enough support

    2010-2011Flyer-1.jpg

So on the 16th and 17th of April the Southland Sports Car Club is holding a few events.

On the Saturday they're holding a public trackday, where you can just rock up in your everyday street car, or a dedicated racecar and have a blat round the track. Your car will need to be in a WOF'able condition, with a fire extinguisher securely mounted in an easy to reach place ( althoungh their pretty relaxed about the having an extinguisher rule). You will also need a pair of cotton overalls and and a helmet

Then on Sunday they're holding motorkhana, where you can just bring any car as long as its got four wheels and a steering wheel, no helmet or overalls required. For the Motorkhana what happens is they set up 3 short courses around cones for you to test out you driving skills, 2 of the courses are on the tarmac and one on the grass. (Ill post up a couple vids of the last motorkhana when i upload them to youtube).

So the plan for the meet was

    Saturday

*Meet up in Invers some where and cruise out to Teretonga (11:30am) (you guys will have to organize the drive from dunners)

*Take part in the trackday ($50)

*Head somewhere that night for a few beers and a feed, (Maybe at my flat)

    Sunday

*Meet up again and cruise back out to teretonga (9:00am)

*Take part in the Motorkhana ($20)

*Then after the motorkhana (about 1:00) we could go go karting ($23)

So tell me what you guys think, would you guys be intrested in doing a whole weekend thing or would you be more interested in just a day thing

  2. Okay so I have organised a toyspeed meet and I would really prefer it to be predominantly a oldschool meet as that's how I ride!

Anyway you are all welcome and please come support me as I am trying to get as many oldschool cars as possible. So far we have Te71 trueno's, Ae86 Trueno's, aa63 Carina, Ke25 Corolla coupe, some old supra's and all the rest.

Here is my post from ts on the meet and info. Please join in for a good cruise on awesome roads!

Okay since myself is probably one of the oldest TSers in Dunedin I have decided to organise our next cruise well ahead of time. Lucky for me I found my old post from the last cruise I did and stole it's info!

I just need want confirmation on a saturday in February and who WILL turn up!

P.s. All oldskool (pre 1989) cars and toyotas are welcome and we should invite Southern Skylines and any other nice clubs we know? Oldschool.co.nz?

So I have volunteered myself to organise the next meet :) As we seem to have lame cruises and i love driving more than talking about driving we are gonna cruise! Details are as follows. Oh and sorry for the shit house edited maps as i dont have any decent photo softwares

    Going route is PINK

    Return route is BLUE

The meet point will be 2pm at chingford park with a leaving time of 2:30. Please get gas before you arrive.

    Meeting.jpg

The cruise will head up north rd and over the hill down into waitati along the state highway and then take the warrington turn off with a little stop at the beach domain area for chat, cricket etc etc.

    Hillsroute.jpg

    Warrington.jpg

From there we can either go further down the coast to karitane or just return to waitati and go over the portchalmers hill rd then through sawyers bay and up over back to NEV then continue down nev and onto george st up leith valley for a little detour and on to my house

    ShawnsHouse.jpg

Shawn lives at Chapman st Wakari.

There is a school car park across the rd from my house so ample parking and photo ops. I have a teenage stepson and baby daughter so children are very welcome and you must bring your girlfriend! No repeat sausage sizzles like last meet! My wife will be very bored if all us boys just show up. And for "you know who" with no girlfriends can bring their blowup dolls thats fine :D As u can tell im a byc cricket fiend so prepare to play drunk cricket sometime on the adventure or suffer my wrath! It's worth it just to see damien try to bowl

Sorry for the early start to the cruise but if we want a meet in the daylight thats the way it's gonna have to be till our summer meet. Also If enough are keen to go further up the coast to karitane(awesome rd) then im totally keen to add it to the route. Also maybe another pitstop at sawyers bay church is an option? Your feedback is very welcome

There is a school car park across the rd from my house so ample parking and photo ops. I have a large tidy bbq friendly yard with a cricket pitch so perfect for our after cruise bbq. I work at a wholesale food distributor and can get steak, Chk or hamburger patties and sausages at cost but would like those interested in going in on a cheap deal to confirm by thursday 17th if they are keen. I am expecting A peice of ribeye steak, patty, chk patty, salad, bread and a couple of sausages to be 8 bucks each maybe? But i will price it up later. BYO drinks and you don't have to go in on food. I really don't mind if u bring your own as thats less hassle for me :)

  5. hey all dunno but maybe we should tag along to the toyspeed/southernskylines meet sat 28th feb 6pm mornington lookout. Most of the dunedin crew all alright and oldschool freaks themselves :) nywy it would save us the hassles of thinking and deciding. Gives every1 time to get permission from their bosses "cough" missus. An gives me time for this to be finished

  6. ^Hahahahahahahahahaha aaah hahahahaha.

Ive done a bit of work on that '70. Still auto slug? Bottom rad support still attached?

Someone has put in a new 3a and changed it to manual and yeh i noticed the welds by the radiator xmember? What hppenned to it? It won't be a 3a for much longer

  7. Figured that, there's only so many of those in a place like dunedin. speaking of, saw this two tone ae70 with some form of p-plate fly past my place today just as i was leaving for work, strange coincidence as i dont think ive seen the car before then.

Lol that would be right :)

I only got the car from chch a few weeks ago so it's new to town. Yeah i bought graham's xr4's! The p plate is cozmo like my handle :D

Do u live somewhere around wakari maori hill way?

  8. the links dont work for toyspeed unless ur a member, and for some reason it wont let me sign up. is it phill's white 25? and damo's datto and ke30 get them all abourd i not seen them in ages. do you no if chris has got anything more done on his kp 20V turbo yet.

Yeah damiens my cousin and phils a mate. They should be keen as! Chris has just had the engine rebuilt I think so maybe it will be going again soon :)

The datto will be coming as the ke30 is still not finished

  9. I have 2 ae70 notchback sprinters (one im wrecking) the other is 2 tone black and silver facelift one with 14 x 8"longchamps and im in the process of converting it to a TE71

My mates r all oldschool rwd toyota and datsun freaks they have TE71's, KE30's, datsun 160j coupe, KE25 coupe etc etc. All our cars r pretty modified the ke30 and 25 r probably the most impressive for mods :)
