  1. Pulled the plugs out of the 3t-gte, cleaned them all then got to the last plug. came out no problems, but trying to get it back in, it does about a full turn then is really hard to screw in, I don't want to force it as im scared ill thread something. Anyone got any tips for getting plugs in easy? Or is it possible I have threaded the spark plug cylinder? thingy... or?

  2. ^ that sounds the exact opposite to the impression I got from our 6's. 2 were early grey wagons like you see everywhere but the last one was a black newer manual sedan and it was still boring. I don't even like the interior in them how its all red dials etc.

Our late model honda euros in manual are so much more awesome on the back roads. They actually gave me a bit of a fright with how fast they are on that type of road.

Were the 6's you drove base model ones, ie not flashy sports models or something?

No they were all facelift and sports (2.3 motor etc). Granted the facelift models with the body kit do look much nicer than the plain models.

I like the red dials! Look sweet at night imo.

They are misleading cars. They are so refined they do almost seem boring (until you start to push them) but having driven one between fox and franz many times I can tell you they are a choice ride. They are not super quick (max speed was around 210) but the handle damn well for what they are.

Not sure how they compare to a euro r. Have never driven one. I think the euro r is nicer looking car, and wouldn't be suprised if they are better than the 6's in more ways than one. I have driven the new camry's which are compared with the mazdas a lot, and they are shit. Rubbish auto, old tech suspension, typical lifeless toyota motor etc.

  3. Having driven both quite a bit (different models too) I would say the mazda 6 wins by a long shot. Although the toyota I drove only had the 1z, so id say the 2z jap models are probably pretty aws.

The toyotas are good cars, but the mazda's are just so much more refined, and way better apointed.

Get a gen 2 model if the budget allows, 6pd man or 5spd auto, plus heaps of other improvements.

Mazda has more space, bigger etc. But they are probably as fast as each other.

  4. You can't buy common sense at a store bro.

It's a shame, because that's about all you should need as a rev limiter.

You have never missed a gear? You will be thankful you have a limiter when you do!

My 3tgte dosn't have a limter from factory, and I plan on setting mine at 6k. Has anyone used those jaycar of trademe ones?

  5. Thanks for the info. And pies, I will, just for you.

Will see about getting some paint this weekend. Do you need to replace the exhaust gaskets each time you remove them from the engine? This one should be pretty new anyway...

  6. Yo, Yo, Check this flow.

Names mixmaster lex and im here to say, is wrappiing them headers worth it bay?

    Uhh.....

Saw some cheap deals on trademe, was going to get some wrap to cover my factory mani, I have heard they can crack if they cool down too fast, makes sense. They did have a heat sheild on them but the old owner has it...

And finally, how do you fix the wrap to the zaust/mani? Bit of the old hot glue yeah?!?

  7. also, if you must have one, be sure to put it on the shortest time possible - ie 10-30seconds, not 3-5 minutes which is just retarded

Totally... Would be cool to wire up electric fans to come on when turbo timer comes on for 30 secs or so...

I think I can handle sitting in my car for half a min. Might just flag the turbo timer..
