  1. sorry guys been slack as with posting. Shes all sanded down and super straight to me now ready for primer. HAd 250 hours or so in labour on front end which for rust free thats pretty crazy. Pulling engine out next week hopefuly to tidy engine bay and do up the good old pinto.

  2. Makes me wonder whats behinhd my gaurds on my new one! Wouldnt be surprised if most of them are rusty there and ya just dont know untill you remove the gaurds!

yeah dont mean to acuse you about it man either, it was just that it has been def done dodgy and covered up as the rusty piller had gunk and another panel riverted onto the front of it and then gunk/shit over that and then some other shit lol. and congrats also, all tied up now! but yeh take the guards off and grind it down as my mates escort was exactly the same

  3. it had patches riverted on to the rusty hole piller to try cover it up and with a tone of crap sealer? lol

Pics please. I dont belive this. I paid close to $2000 to get rust removed PLUS the $3000 to paint the car! (which also involved a tad more rust removal) Either way I had no idea of this, sucks to find but it is an old car. If I was you I would have started with another shell, what was the point of taking expensive paint off a car when it looked fine. You could have started on a new shell and still had this one as it was! Each to their own tho.

um gaz, quote "It has ABSOLUTLY NO RUST as it was all taken out" but yeah it sure has rust.

    Few $$ also fixing

As far as I knew it didnt. I didnt touch that car in the paint/prep procedure and I did believe it was 100% rust free. It was painted round 5 years ago now which is a pretty long time. When I sold it to you, over a year ago now, it had absolutly no signs of rust coming through the paint and no signs of rust anywhere else for that matter.. so, how was i supposed to know!! Sorry mate but not my fault!

yeah narh im not having a go at you, just dissapionted but the guy that did it for you did the dodgy hardout. I will send more photos threw when i get the disk from panel beaters. ta

  6. Are you sure its sitting right? I think when I did it I had no bumpies in but im sure it hit on the inner.. Maybe it was the outer I cant member now.

yeh both wheels are attached haha and its hitting both outer guards constant rub. cant move car as sittn on the tyre. but u said it didnt rub that much with you and i get rubbage with one person in the back? (wasnt fat eaither) haha

i might be stupid but im sure its pretty obvious that its sitting on the tyre, and in the pic on the build thread of it bumpied it looks like your wheels are sittn in more than mine now. real weird???

  7. I dsay take the rims into an engineer and ask them. Id also say it is possiable as there is HEAPS of extra meat on there.

Ill also tell you that if you do it then the inner side of the rim will hit the inner side of the gaurd and it will rub constantly. You might want to jump under the car with a jack under the diff and have a look at where it is hitting now.

Could possibaly run a lowpro 15inch tyre if your can find one.. Maybe a 175 or 185 at around 50 or 40 profile. It will make the car lower to the ground but it will make it look like there is more room in the arches.

yeah its on the jack now with ubolts not connected so is bumped stoped. it has heaps of room to move to the inner side but is constant rub on main guard, some different tyres could be the go also but just looking at different ideas by keeping the same tyre size

  8. That is how the manufacturers of single piece rims modify offset. They cast in heaps of material in that area and then carve it off. That is why most modern RWD rims suck so badly as they are really FWD rims with a deep inner hub

Problem is once they have been drilled you can't really skim the back of them (and definitely not 15mm) or there will be nowhere for the nuts to seats. Would need to redrill the stud patter in order to do it safely and by the time you pay for it would probably be cheaper to get different wheels.

most others are gay and hardly any mags dont have the right ofset eaither from what i no of... the other option i no of is simmons but they are pricey
