I tried out a Dacia at an A&P show in deepest Northumberland. We left a fair bit of it strewn across the countryside where it fell off. As for jobs, pretty much the same as now: looking after computers. Of course, I sort of know what I'm doing now!
meh, would have been more interesting if you were a spy
anyway...
yeah,in England it was known as "The Very Acceptable Dacia Denem" but brits were not so crazy 'bout it.
the sales were running somewhere till 90s. sales of the pick-up version, known as the Shifter, continued until about 90's and the Aro 10 was also sold as the Dacia Duster
after the failure of the Renault 12-based Dacia Denem in the UK market, the brits importer of Dacia decided to re-badge the ARO 10 4x4 vehicle as the Dacia Duster.
'99. Dacia was bought by the Renault , 70% or something
i have tried once to drive that :roll:i know the third gear was killing me, like you needed to know a secret handshake in order to make it stay there, i couldn't really tell if it was in gear or not . i felt I had to make an effort to make the car understand what i wanted
this oder "thing", Oltcit, was a rumanian brand in '77. from a collaboration with the Citroen. fucking french, they are everywhere
81. cames Oltcit Club, best known as Citroen Axel
Oltcit Club derives from the Citroen "Y-2" project of the 72. initially realized for the Visa: the engine was the 4-cylinders "flat" of the Citroen GS, air-cooled. but, for the definitive version of the Visa, it was decided to use the 4-in line SOHC water-cooled engine of the Peugeot 104, meh

in '60. there was another one,Dacia, kinda Romania's Wolkswagen, very popular, and it was something to do with Renault searching in that time east manufacturer for an under licence small production of 1100-1300 engines
I've driven a Dacia Denim 4WD, round about 1980. Another POS, bits just kept falling off it. Dacia was a dumping ground for the worst of renault's engines, that's for sure.
no shit?! you drove that?! was it a God's punishment or what
but then, you may consider yourself as a lucky one,you drove 80's with luxuries as a five-speed gearbox, alloy wheels and electric windows
what kind of a job did you do 'cause this was reserved just for a comunist party stuff hahah
when this cunt Ceaushescu aka. guvernement in that time has decided to start small/middle class engine production and to ,i guess, decrease unemployment , Fiat,Ford,Peugeot,Alfa R. and Austin(Morris) were fighting to get concession but Renault won with their R 8 crap, and the 1100 Dacia was born.
2-3 years later, romanians went after higher cause and based on another french crap R 12,started the production of Dacia 1300,1310(break.pick-up version etc)
after the love afair with Renault was over,Dacia become 100% romanian car.
i can imagine what that meant to the ppl there.'helped' with the dictator's tumb, nationaly proud, they've shit their pants to be able to buy one of those.
it was IN. it was a MUST.
almost everybody owned one and became adept at carrying out repairs or home-made modifications hahahaah
remember the cold war/espionage movies?
rom.sec. police Securitate was drivin' later version of Dacia
sholdowa, what did you say you were doing as a job in 80's ?
