  1. I tried importing a couple of cars from Japan to make money. In both cases, there were costs I hadn't counted on and I lost money.

If it's been stored for such a long time, you would probably spend months chasing little problems like perished rubber parts and corroded or seized something else.

Being LHD, would probably reduce the value. Sure LHD american cars are cool, but that's because they were born that way. The Japanese market is RHD, so the car will be more desirable as RHD.

I know it's a fun idea to entertain, but my reflection on car importation to make money is that I would have been better off getting a part-time job pumping petrol!

  2. One of the guys in my car club was harping on about how amazing J-B Weld is for that sort of thing. Haardens "like steel" and can be tapped and drilled etc if you need to. There is some guy who sells tubes of it on TradeMe.

  3. Just noticed that a guy at work is selling a V8 Mk3 2-door:

Ford Cortina GT MK3 Coupe. Full custom adjutstible suspension lowered on 18" chromes. Injected 5L V 8 T5 manual. Full black leather interior. Fully certed. Very rare.

If someone is genuinely interested, PM me and I'll put you in touch.

  4. Name: Matthew

    Location: Wellington

Cars you own: 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme V8 Diesel, Fiat Tipo Sedicivalvole

Mods to them (can be brief or detailed): Not much. removed the cat from the Tipo, but that car doesn't count as old school

How you found out about oldschool: Was searching for pics of Horopito

Anything else you want to add: I'm trying to build a sort of over-sized Lotus 7, but right now it just looks like a bunch of parts and a Mk2 supra donor car
