Ok thanks that's what I wanted 2 hear . The parts supplier I work 4 sells them but wanted 2 buy a cheaper one. Brain wave think the local pick a part has one. Time 2 go and spend a penny and take my tape measure .

Don't have the chance 2 do that the car is out of town . I have a one way ride to it so need 2 take battery . Will see if I have a battery cover in the shed. Need 2 take new clamp forgot out foot mounting.

Euro also has set down into it making it lower. That's what I'm concerned about.

I'm looking at buying a sierra it has no battery. I know from working in auto parts for a few yrs now that a euro battery is recomened. Can I get away with not using one.

I have on idea what the engine is and the owner is a fifty something stoner who lives at home . I really need 2 go and view the car.

Don't know much about customlines but a friend has a 62 he wants 2 sell. The car has been sitting on his parents back lawn for 10yrs plus so the rust bugs have taken hold. Can anyone tell me if the mechanicals are worth money. Was thinking about buying it 2 part out but not sure what the running gear would be worth. The car is an auto V 8

Cool that is what I want to build but think I will look for a second hand body

Could be manx like my cat. Sorry not up VW models this is a new mark to me .

I have decided to look in a long thought of project of building a VW based buggy. The type with an open fibreglass body. Been told they're called a Samba . I just want it as a summer tarmac toy. What can people tell me. Started looking a trademe at old 70's bodies . I realise old fibreglass can be hard to work with. Can you get new bodies locally prefer the 03. Mechanicals are sorted. Just have no knowledge of the structural stuff.

Try butler Auto mart in CHCH they have a huge range of old school parts at good prices.

I'm looking at using some to colour match to some kitchen appliances. Has anyone used it what was the result. Tips and tricks too please.

I have a chopper framed bicycle that I want 2 convert to a moped. When I bought bike back wheel needed new wheel bearings. Was planning on just replacing bearings . Be advised to bet a wheel made with bigger bearings and spokes. Prefer CHCH but will don't mind paying for a courier if needed.

Who in the great land of NZ is doing it? Was reading in new Zealand classic car about it. Wouldn't mind getting a bit of interior plastic made.

That right my bad.

I'm having a casual look at a chevet and thinking of doing an engine swap. Does any one know of an easy bolt on up grade for brakes and diff. This going 2 be a lazy build. Just bolt up and cert. "Yeah right"

So if the tablet was part of the dash that would be ok?
-
Really liking the sound of this thread I have a digital dash on my never never board. My white board of ideas I will either never have the money for or should never build. With regard to needing mechanical speedo is that because of needing a odometer? If so could U use a hubo like a truck uses or put a speedo in the glove box so Mr WOF can still read it.

Your best bet is Auto barn in Aussie. I used to work for New Zealands biggest independent parts supplier in the country we couldn't get them. I spent a few hours looking for them. Sorry to Piss on your party but they are dam hard to get.

Help some time ago on a post of mine regarding building a 4wd capri. Someone posted a web site of a guy in Holland who had converted a MK2 escourt to 4wd . I have lost the address. Can anyone help me with the address. It was something like MK2escourt.nu
