I have a customer ( Yes another reason to be on old school at work ) that is building a VK commador race car. He is wanting to do a wrap on the car with the livery of the brock / Moffat car. He is having trouble finding and quality photos. I.E. full frontal or full side views . If anyone has old promotional pics they could scan would be great.

Any result Shane? Maybe ph Wilson he may still be working for DHL

If we look a bring in an old school container from the UK can someone please start a thread on it? (I know someone will just asking the stupid question. Some has too)
Yes I could be keen to put a couple of kilos of coke. I mean an order from burtons
-
Have you thought about sharing a container. Had a mate brought in a wrecked car a while back. Cost him a quarter of the price of doing it in it's own container. May not help but anothe avune to check out.

One of my projects needs the bonnet tidy it to keep it presentable while I use it unrestored. Being a 70's ford I'm going with satin black. Do I get the underside painted the same or leave it as the base colour of the car ???

Mk4 manual box's can be converted to floor change easily with the gear lever from a 2l mk2 Capri. Both have external linkages. Of coarse with this kind of swap not much will be easy.

unsure of the style they are factory ones. Will try and get a photo

I have a customer looking for a bolt on brake upgrade for his 1983 MS112 crown.
He is aware it will involve a cert as he is fitting a 1JZGE
Yes I am using this as a reason to be on old school while at work.

I run calcium batterys in both my 1981 Volvo and 1938 ford, they both have stock charging systems apart from the ford had a 12v conversion. they are exclint for an old DC generator charging system.
The last calcium FM battery I had in the volvo lasted 14 years, charging system output is 14 odd volts,
Maybe suck it and see is a option.

Is getting a new battery not an option? (genuine question, I actually don't know if you can do that)
Yes a new battery is an option but due to it coming out of my pocket (happy wife happy life) plus I have 70's old school too . So looking for a good long term solution.

Will that trick the regulator into putting out more power
-
I'm sure this question has been asked many times. My wifes 253 HQ has a calcium battery fitted the car is currently at home on a maintance charger. But when summer rolls around will it/I have issues. IE flat batterys for the car constant wining in my ears. I realize the factory alt only charges at 14.5v not the 15v the battery requires . Can I get the regulator on the alt adjusted or changed to suit and how will this affect the car if I go back to a lead acid?

6 cyl hot rods are actually pretty cool but I may be the only one that thinks so. Holden 6's or Falcon 6's are still being pulled out of good cars for V8 conversions and you can pick up a good running motor for not too much money. They are simple to get running with no computers etc so might be a reasonable option with a tight budget. Alternatively one of my mates pulled a Nissan inline 6 out of a rusty 280ZX and fitted it to an old Mercedes and it runs great so something like that may be an option.
L series motor should be direct bolt in on a merc. I had a 78 with a LD28T went like a cut cat and cheap to run

Thankyou all for your input and thoughts. Yes certing will come at a cost and that will hopefully be the main part of my budget . I was thinking holden V6 as I already have one from A VN commy.
Now I just hope my idea of barn stored is the same as the current owners

The later ohv 6's would go well in a car I think, it's the truck diffs that slow them down. Supercharge it too obviously
Every thing is better with a blower

I have be offered a humber hawk. Been in a barn for a long time. Not sure what year or model or condition . Think if it's bad of building a rat rod .
Has anyone done a modem engine swap on a humber or Hillman. Trying to find out if anything modern will line up engine mount wise.
I would like it to be road legal so will need a cert. So would rather not be building mounts. Budget is zero dollars. LoL

I would like to publicly retract any and all negative comments I have ever made against the LSTA. comments made both sober and with a few/many on board. That's both public and social media comments.
I will explain myself while I hang my head in shame.
I forgot to place my reg on hold 731 days ago. Yes two years and one day ago. When I phoned there 0800 number crying large man tears. Because my beloved GXL capri, had to go through a B*LL SH*T re vining re reging thing. They kindly told me they would reinstate it for me at no charge as long as I was a good boy and put it on hold.
LOVE you LSTA. Till you put your charges up
