For my car I ditching the front bumper altogether and running escort recessed front indicators. Not sure what modle there off. and a plain rear bumper.
My car factory has indicators in the bumper and has over riders front and rear.
Still need to find the rear bumper and indicators so If you can help please give me a yell.

Well have to say I learn't something there. In never knew MK2 sports had no crome. But I've only had one escort and found it a bit narrow in the track. So thankyou atropine .

I don't know why chroming makes them brittle , But I'm pretty sure it's true. I used to work for a company selling chev spares. We did alloy front pullys for small blocks but someone else did chrome. The crome ones used to break.
Yes dat you can paint your wheels any colour you like.

Try Repco or BNT there an off the shelf item in nolatahn.
-
Are these legal?
Does anyone know? Please no guess.
I've been told these are now illegal due to the process makes the wheels brittle.

Becarefull who you buy your bushs from there is a guy on trade me selling bushs and engine mounts at about double the retail price. He talks them up alot but I think he's full of shit. I worked in out parts for more than 10yrs. For BNT and REPCO I never saw a bush come back. I Use REPCO engine mounts on my V6 which are the same as escourt and cortina mounts. Had no worries with them. This guy was selling them for about 3X what they retail for.

I have ony one Question regarding crome bumpers. Why paint them?
Do people paint them to try to make thier cars look more moden?
Then why not buy a moden car.
Is it a cost thing cheaper to paint them than get recromed.
This is more valid than it sounds. After all ford did it several times. Once with cortina. Some of the high spec MK1 had crome rostyl wheels but the MK2 had painted as there cheaper. Capri also came out with painted bumpers in the MK2 3.0s but I beleve this was paint over crome.

I think you'll find that VC comodor strut tops will fit.

This is a topic I have discussed over a few beers a couple of times with mates . Once was with a car sales guy. WEe both agreed what makes any old car valuabe is emotional attachment. IE it's grandads old car, lost my virginity in one. I know when dad stops for gas in his vintage car it can take an hour. So many people stop and say. "I remember my parents having one" or so on.
When I gought my GXL three of dads mates told me if I ever sold it to call them. Because there girlfriends brother had one, or dad had one ra ra ra.
For me I want a GXL MK1 Capri cos hardly any left. Not like driving a skyline and you pass six others every few ks.

V6 coils are 135mm dia. Not sure on 4cyl ones but I'm pretty sure you'll find the V6 run bigger bearings in the hubs.
-
Ihear what your saying with your hood colour. I'm doing the same with my ride, but using satin black. Same effect but matt tends to look oxidised and cheapens the look of the car.

If you want to make your motor fast for less dollars. Try to get hold of the David Vizard book on how to modify the motor. The book is packed with info on what to do and what not to do and why including dyno graphs.

What sort of capri are you talking??
I think you'll find capri ones are slightly shorter.
I run mk2 esky inserts in my MK1 capri.
If you get V6 ones they take bigger dia springs and have bigger stub axles.

These only came out for one year on the top of the line modles. But when your sporting an eight it has to have them.
What about a dirty old trumip 2000 or the like.
