cheers thanks for that sounds like it could be worth chasing. Only have the engine no puter for it. hopping I can find one for it. Are mannul ones the same as auto's ? I have a factory manual motor.

I'm looking at another project because I need a Christmas present. 

Looking  at a humber hawk. Don't know if it runs and drives appear to be rust free. Will look harder once I can work a few things out. 

First question has anyone repowered a humber or anything roots group . What did you use?

I have a VN commodore V6 in the back of the shed. Hopping it will be a fairly straightforward swap.  Lol they never are.

I've bought some wheels on trademe.  They have been paid for.  They are in rotorua. Can someone please pick them up and hold them till Christmas.  I had someone lined up to pick them up but it's fallen through.  Please message me if you can help. 

I realise the corrosion may be terminal not trying to save what can't be saved just clean stuff up so I can sell it. Mainly looking at timing covers and dizzy housings. Inlet manifolds look like cheese .

I just acquired a parts haul of ford v6 parts. Is the a treatment for corroded aluminum? The parts have not been stored  in the most ideal environment.  The environment is not the best place to store parts. Some of the aluminum has white fur growing on it. Obviously aluminum oxide or something similar.  What's the best way to haunt it and remove it?

Is it possible to swap the inlet manifold from the MK2 to a MK3 engine to avoid changing the ECU?

So if using a mk4 1.8 I will need ecu from mk4 as well?

I just purchased a MK2 golf (GTI I think) car has a seized engine. looking for a quick transplant. I see a lot of MK3 being wrecked on trade me. Will these be a direct bolt in. IE same computer same mounts?

Car is auto and white if that matters

finally done what I should of done in the first place and checked the sizes in works ( R***co) computer. and sizes are different so looks like new stub axles to.

was fitted to a capri have the cross member for it to . Will ask uncle google what the numbers cast in it mean.

About to put a weber on the 253 so it will get used a lot more and she has a big foot so would really like to up date the stoppers.

I'm sure this has been discussed MANY times. But wanting to do a break upgrade on mrs funs hq. Was thinking VS commodre. do I need hubs and stubs or just calipers or will this not work. Car has factory discs and yes I do realize it will need a cert.

I have a rear wheel drive Toyota 5speed collecting dust in my shed. It's of unknown condition fitted with graham berry bell housing to suit ford V6.

No idea what model it is.  Only other thing I  cam tell you is it's been painted chev orange. location is peoples republic of Christchurch incase region effects price.

Are you talking 4cyl capri? Are you wanting to swap cross members? I know a V6 cross member has equal spaced bolts so it can be spun 180 deg to push the rack back. 

I have a cross member Capri V6 at home I can measure bolt spacing if that helps.

My wife has just purchased her second matching car to me. She wants to get matching plates for our cars.

Is this a good idea she is the love of my life and letting my build a 6 bay shed with a hoist or a step to far?

At this stage not looking to do an engine swap just the possibility of a gearbox swap if I can do it cheap . Cheap = little or no cost over and above gear box.

Just bought a 1981  1.6   L200 flat deck (not well side) Not a project till landscaping is done. 

It's factory everything including column change 4spd been offered  a 5spd from a 2.6 L300??? Similar vintage. Will it fit???

Yes I realise the 5spd is floor change but will it need a new drive shaft.

I'm  restoring/repainting a push scooter for my grandson. I want to put some basic flames on it ( He's only two) . Does anyone sell a masking type product on a roll or sheet. That is self adhesive so I can mask it easily to paint it?

Bring on self driving cars. Pretty sure half the drivers in Christchurch already think they have one. And the rest of the cars have broken indicators.  

So maybe with self driving cars people will have more time to post their boring lives and photos of ugly babies on face book, and not have to worry about indicating.
