  1. Selling the D-Windows on trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1173070024&ed=true
  2. Ok so home for the weekend, and finally got it registered with plates. I went to the VTNZ counter and the same rude ignorant bitch who we will call 'W' was there, and again was completely a rude bitch, so I told her that her customer service skills were atrocious., and if she worked for me she would be fired, and she needed training - she replied with "You need training", so much for the customer is always right. I called her a pig, and she walked out the door presumably to eat some pies. When she left other staff members said "shes always like this" , but they are too afraid to complain about her one said " I've already been cut back to part time" - so she's a work place bully to boot. so I made a complaint to her manager but he was only available on his mobile, and who never called me back....long story short - avoid VTNZ in the Waiwhakaiho valley if you want proper service and don't like being totally misinformed and treated with contempt. I'll email my complaint to the boss who never returned my calls, plus his boss and his boss. See earlier posts ... DON'T USE VTNZ Waiwhakaiho valley NP. The guys there are good, but this cunt just doesn't make it worth it...trust me. Anyway put on the JDM doilies - like icing on a wedding cake... really makes it look like a hearse. I like. Thanks to the CHCH VTNZ who had originally filled in the compliance sheet as a 7 seater - the VTNZ up here used the same details and it's now registered as one.. Plus put in the faux wood accents...oh yerrrrrrrrrr Anyway it's legal. I just need a HIVAC climate control unit as mine appears to be had it, so the heater is on high full bore and the a/c doesn't work. Forgot how soft and floaty this thing is to drive, think marshmallow's wrapped in a duvet on a waterbed, on top of a trampoline.will lower and get proper wheels, convert to round headlamps and re-tint it when home next.
  3. I flew up to the Gold Coast last weekend, and decided to go pick up a spare Window Motor that I need for my Century. Had to drive up to Ipswich and met an old bloke who had two wrecking, he was pretty awesome, had three large work shops on his land, a mint Mk1 Zephyr a Mint pontiac Firebird a Cobra kitcar with a century V8 and he was building a 56' Ford F100 running a century V8; pretty serious engineering -he had fab'ed up a wider chassis to fit the wider engine, fitting Air Con and elecs from the century.Should have taken pics but my phone was flat. Anyway anyone who knows the VG40 + VG45 Century probably knows the electric windows usually fail.A bloke down in Melbourne who has a few explained how to fix them, which is good because since I've had my 91 Century they have never worked. Before I bought the car some amateur auto electrician had pulled one motor completely apart and fuked it good. Here's the Fix - emailed to me by a mate..will have to wait till i'm back in NZ to fix mine. The nylon gear is the weak point, it cracks in a straight line between a pair of teeth through to the centre. Once the two teeth separate you have no more drive, just a clicking sound. Toyota no longer make the nylon gear, but to repair your existing ones : *Gently clamp the crack closed with a bit of super glue in there, then used a soldering iron to seal over the join on front and back, *Then plate it like surgeons do with bones. In this case I used a piece of old feeler gauge, again glue behind it and a couple of tiny screws into the nylon for lateral support. Works like a dream. Also note Century window lift motors are close cousins of those used in the Crown MS85 (and possibly others models of that era). The only differences are the lugs on the outer casing, everything else is the same. I also remember reading somewhere that someone had new nylon gear made up at a cost of like 2k? if anyone knows how to get these made cheaper -you will have a ready market for them. I also have wiring diagrams if anyone needs them.
  4. Ok so am stilll waiting on tracking down the MS112 Grille but in the meantime I have bought some bits and pieces; Plus a GS110 Grille + chrome/stainless steel trim from the bonnet that will do for now... And then I found this pic.... The MS112 Grille plus round lights from a GS117v crown van. - and guess what they are wrecking in Japan... Oh yeah baby,a set of these bad boys are on their way
  5. So wanting something to Cruise the Sydney eastern Suburbs in... time for 80's Toyota boxy pleasure craft. Flew up to Brisbane to batter down the price on this mint one owner MS112. The car dealer had pretty diverse "classics" - old Jags, a Turbo Nissan 300c, a MINT 82 Sigma Wagon and a MINT 78 Corona Wagon. It's being trucked down this week, Looking forward to driving it to work and parking it next to all the Merc's BMW's and Range Rovers... has the boat anchor 5ME - would like to swap out for a 6MGE to keep the 80's vibe, and I reckon 5MGE/6M's are good looking donks...or 1UZ... Now for some reason Australian Series II Ms112's got this horrible euro face..Bling is what makes Crowns..and it looks eerily reminiscent of the front of the Argentinian "Ford Falcon" that was produced between the 70's to the late 80's based on the early 60's XP falcon...the whole Fiat/Lada thing.. Prefer the quad lights with the caddy grille, but that would entail changing the guards the bonnet and the bumper... so I am hunting for a JDM face...series 11, we got them in NZ... Let me know if you know of a S2 crown wrecking with the grille and chrome bits...I have the lights/fog lamps as they are the same as the more common GS110 heaps on yahoo.co.jp..but the rest is harder to find. So once it hits Sydney it's off to get a blue slip to get the car registered in NSW..
  6. it's in the valley, they are the ones in town who can do vinning... the guys who work there are great, so is this older lady there, shes a darling...just the bushpig you need to avoid.
  7. Yup, that's her, my mechanic and his wife both used the same description of her when I was chatting to them. The good news is the car got clean sheeted straight through so now is VIN'ed, no problems with the rear windows that actually have extra tint film on them.. Good@! I am going to sort out Peaches next week, she has all the paper work still for the car... I'm thinking of importing a Toyota Coaster Camper that I have been offered an awesome deal on over here, so no doubt I will have to be dealing with her again in the future.
  8. All good, the electric windows in these are more reliable than the wind up regulators which always stuff up, if you need anything of this let me know http://www.picknpayless.com.au/eziparts/Display_Vehicle.asp?PriceListID=0&VehicleID=206025&Location=picknpaylesscomau&LocationID=1&VehicleDesc=Toyota%20MS123%2012/85-05/88
  9. Hey Geof, It hasn't passed yet..they have their one inspector away or some crap.. The guys who work there are ok, but the fat dumb bitch local yokel behind the counter is a right cunt. She keeps on rebooking it for another day to piss me and my mechanic off..I had an argument with the blimp bitch when I called her from OZ to book in the VIN... She reckoned I needed to send the wagon back to CHCH for a recheck...from New Plymouth? completely rude an dismissive idiot.. I spoke to her manager when back home and he said they can treat it as a new VIN which is what I wanted - what she said wasn't possible, and what is actually in-itself bureaucratic crock. When I met her in person she looked exactly how i imagined her to be...sitting there like two scoops of ice cream, she was eating eating potato chips at the front counter with the crumbs falling onto her large abdomen , that makes her look like shes smuggling a VW beetle. Anyway the rear side windows have film on i'm sure, they will probably knock it back on that, but would be hard to imagine anything else. Once it gets passed i'll ring back old peaches and give her some anguish. This is what happens when there is only one place n the whole of Taranaki that can do VINNING. On a lighter note how's your 120 wagon going?
  10. Also like most of these wagons the rear wipers have been removed...am a fan of the dual wipers. have got some new wiper arms from Toyota, but the actual part that holds the blade are no longer available new... I bought some generic type that are supposed to suit a camry wagon, but they don't fit, will have to get a pic to explain it better, bottom line is I need dual rear wipers,,,,,
  11. last time I was back in NZ I pulled it out of the garage and gave it the clay bar then hand polished treatment..I have sourced a wiring diagram so will be getting the windows etc working. Also on Japan Yahoo I found the red missing badge for the boot lock latch ...
  12. motivation...well...not fast obviously but it moves along...
  13. ok so the car has had everything it failed on for VIN'ing replaced or repaired... I picked it from the mechanics on a weekend back in NZ, first time I have actually seen it in the metal.. I threw some factory alloys on for the next VIN attempt, Changing out the D windows for now. Pleased to find that the car is in very; very good condition, the paint and panel is virtually blemish free; quite impressive for a wagon that is 21 years old. Gave it a clean and it came up mint - Also fitted a later model grille. inside once again it's pretty mint. The carpet was covered in plastic, and the factory 'shag pile" floor mats were in the boot - unused. Typical toyota Brown Skylight sunroof with curtains Has most of the Royal Saloon extras, Electric front seats, dual air con with a drinks cooler in the rear, Dickie seats Versatile seating adjustments
  14. ok...parts are nearly here so this should be through compliance shortly... also these came up on yahoo...$600 bucks...hmmm
  15. Ok huge thanks to CorollaGT for doing me a an awseome deal on the parts, they should be over from Nippon in a few weeks I'll be back in NZ mid july so the wagon should be legit and on the road, Picked up some woodgrain bits for the dash from Yahoo And some 170 series wheels and good tyres so I can get through Compliance, the current wheels have spacers and the tires are a bit rubbish, these will do for now.
  16. It's going slowly, trying to get a better price on the parts I need, I think someone on here works at toyota and can get good prices? Once I order the parts it will take a few weeks for them to arrive, I'm going back home mid July so am aiming for it to be ready by then.

  19. Ahh never mind... Anyway I have a list of parts from the mechanic, he hasn't listed down the cost for the Body mounts, and I don;'t know which ones need replacing as vtnz just said "replace all cracked mounts" But here's a list of the parts with indicative prices. I have sent through an enquiry to Toyota NZ< or who is the guy on this board that works for Toyota in Palmy?
  20. Cheers guys.. I'll talk with my mechanic tomorrow to get some part numbers that h's got prices for.
  21. Thanks man, have you ever used these guys? at these prices it's a no brainer?!!
  22. Ok, so the mechanic has had a hard time tracking down the bushes, we have to go genuine toyota, cost = more than $1000, $2000 for all parts. Can't find a nolathane kit that will work, the mechanic also said that VTNZ are dicks because the bushes that are cracked are only to absorb vibration from the full chassis...anyone have some ideas on how to get the cost down? Cheers
