  1. ^They may use Seatbelt Sales in Antiqua St. (03)9638886, they are better quailty/prices than Ripco.

Just spoke to Eddie at Seatbelt Sales, this guy knows his shit...

Way more helpful, and way cheaper than the price I can get at Repco on a trade account...

  2. Around $300 all up I think, and thats with a pretty massive trade discount too. That's for both front belts + buckles + fitting kit.

She couldn't tell me if they were retractable or not though, and I'm pretty sure I can't fit the retractable units because of the aftermarket seats (unless the unit mounts on the roof)

  3. Not sure if this is in the correct forum or not so feel free to move if need be...

I need some new seatbelts for the Corolla... is a 1971 model with just the front belts, non retractable, so pretty basic...

Where is the best place to get new belts for something like this, without paying mega bucks?? Everyone I've asked so far has said Repco, are they the best place?

    Cheers

  4. Hello!

    Which bit of Ohope?

About 500m from your dads. You probably already know me, I did the photos at his wedding.

There isn't any garage space left (for a vehicle anyway), unfortunately... but in saying that I am considering flicking the KE off. That may not be until the end of the year though...

    I'm also a cunt.

Cunts are most welcome to visit. But I don't think we're talking about the same kind...?

  5. Bit of a long shot, but there are a few EB-OS-GC's on here so worth a try...

Looking for a flatmate for my place in Ohope. $180pw which includes power/phone/wireless internet/lawns. House is fully furnished except for bedroom.

Virtually straight across the road from Ohope Beach, quiet area, ocean views from the balcony.

Prefer someone clean and tidy, preferably working and must be able to pay rent on time! No dropkicks.

I'm 25, only me here at the moment, I'm pretty quiet and easy going. Don't mind having a beer or 3, but prefer not to have a flatmate who will have 25 mates over every weekend getting drunk trashing the place...

If you're interested or even know anyone who might be, flick me a PM on here.

    Cheers

  6. The handbrake cable in the Corolla snapped and I need to replace it... one problem - all I know is it's out of a Hilux, so I'm trying to find the exact model.

Guy from the local wreckers seemed fairly certain it is from a 2WD Hilux, around LN85 model, but he says there are two types with different bolt spacing (around 45mm and 65mm). The bolts on my cable are approx 64mm apart. Total cable length is approx 125cm, but it has been stretched before snapping so this may be a bit off, although I'm fairly certain this is close to the original length.

Using Trademe + Carjam, I've found a couple of models around the LN85 series, and putting these vin numbers in to ToyoDIY, the cables from the two models below have a slight resemblance to mine...

    1989 Toyota Hilux 1.8 Single Cab 2WD

    Engine: 2Y

    Chassis: YN85

    1989 Toyota Hilux 2.4 Single Cab 2WD

    Engine: 2L

    Chassis: LN85

Still a bit of a guessing game though, so ideally what I need is someone who can ID exactly what model the handbrake cable has come off. If you know of someone with a Hilux around the same era as those above, could you please check it out and see if it looks the same, maybe measure the bolts and get a couple of photos.

Photos below are of my cable. Any info would be hugely appreciated.

    Thanks

  7. Just had mine oil lines off lastnight, and its got a 2mm hole for my journal bearing turbo. Steve Murch explained it all to me in really simple terms, now I can't remember any of it... something like it doesn't need any massive pressure at all, just a constant oil supply for the bearing to float on and it wasn't the pressure which kills the seals but the volume going passed them... probably way off there though... Short answer was just put a restrictor on.

First turbo I put on shat itself with oil coming out anywhere it could, second turbo I fitted a restrictor and its been fine since.

I've got a brass fitting which goes directly into the turbo core, which the oil line connects to. Filled the centre of the brass fitting with braising, then drilled the hole through it... simple as

  8. For all of you that have cut and shut a 4age inlet manifold.

Can you remember how thick it was???????.

Got pulled up on my cert for the brake M/C hitting the manifold so want to file some meat off to give some clearance!!

    Cheers

Last one I drilled through (accidently) was about 3 - 5mm max from memory, not thick at all. This was up the front on the side though, back end might be a bit thicker.

  9. They would be to wide I thinks? Need a touch of stretch for clearance. Will find out soon, wheels should be here monday, will get an old 205 50 slapped on one and do some test fitting.

I've got some old 225/50/15s sitting in the shed if you needed some to try...

  10. Also, I remember something about the wiring in the dizzy changing between models, I think the wire colors stay the same, but do different things?

From memory the wire colours change between models but the pins stay the same, so when you plug a dizzy into a different loom the colours don't match, but it should work fine. Haven't played with a standard 4age loom for ages so my memory is fairly hazy

TPS's sh*t out fairly frequently though, and they are super sensitive so make sure they are set to the exact right specs using a multimeter and feeler gauges.
