Whoa, i fully havn't posted in here yet
I can't decide on a colour to be honest. I love the colour on Zane's AvengerThanks boe, I <3 that colour too. About a weeks worth of farting around with colours. Quality brand of paint helps too
However I'd love to see this thing gloss black, with a slight pearl. I might have a play with shades at work monday if it's quiet. A slight dash of silver would look nice too, it highlights angles and contours.
Also, Have you considered a full Chevette conversion?? Motor,body,chassis,trim,interior......Everything. Even the tourists are doing it
-
Oh mean, you finally sold it.
You should do a DASH conversion Mitch. Such an easy swap, you'd have it done by nats, easy.
Easily
-
Fully seick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gutted I couldn't come lend a hand, appears you unstopabo3 cunts got it sussed.
Love your work
-
Ooooh, I see why you've needed that sump!. It sits perfectly over the crossmember.
BTW O/S Nats is approaching fastly......
-
ive heard marmite works wonders
Dude, not funny IRL. Not funny on innernets. Seriously.
Depending on the badge's design, use urethane (We use Holdfasts). Or a clear contact glue. Trim tape is all good, but it's cunty if the badge is detailed.
-
Matthew Black, Yes, i know. I just told someone to use matte black.Crazy.
Make sure you leave that bog on the bumper for extra impact.
-
I'd rock a JAF badge if i owned something from the oriental shores. AA badges rule, i think i've got three now.
Sadly the Chevette doesn't have a grill to mount them in.....
-
Simple solution:
Move out of South Auckland.
Or buy a specially trained kung-fu monkey, one that's able to use its head mounted lasers to zap the bad men into thin air.
-
I'll be in Aucks this weekend anyway.
Might go watch some phat skidzzzzz/ Not at all.
-
Mean! Haggard bumper, But the car looks good in white.
Welcome to Chevette ownership, may your spare time be wasted on fixing problems..
-
Probably should of posted this: ,

Yup i want/ need a set for the sedan.
-
I thought they were going on your wagon rims....
But yes, i'm mega keens.
-

Full time banana picker.
-
hahaha if only he still had the wagon... gets the ladies hard!!!
It did?? Awesome.
-
And because wagon is going to be awesomely low very soon so won't be able to drive everywhere? Hope so
Boes it's already "lowered"!!!..
Looks insanely mint though, is it IRS?
-
I can't make it this weekend boes.
Promised someone I'd spend the weekend with her, romantic get-away stz.
Have fun.
-

Hah, wasn't a whole 'hush-hush" thing. Just didn't mention it incase i never got it stz.
Thanks for the heads up chris, but i have plans for a much more modern & effective 1600.....

Well this is new project,
1979 Vauxhall chevette Sedan.
Also seen in such threads as "Mikuni's 1979 Chevette Sedan":
http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=9774
Appears to have had four owners so far. It's also one of only a handfull of "GL" chevettes,Featuring the highest output 1256 in it's class......
Body is in a pretty rough state, and it's going to be staying like that for awhile/ till i'm sick of it. Sussing out whitewall flappers at the moment, along with more period styling mods.
-
I need a set of them too!!
-
Satin's got a sheen to it, also called semi-gloss.
How straight is your car Spence?, and if you really want gloss on it go for it.No point doing a half arse job with matte. Still got millions of time before Nats.
-
can get matte clear coats can't ya?
Satin's awesome. Don't think a dark colour will suit this veehikle though.
-
Yup,as HUNTD said.
I'd gaurantee that the Hunter's diff head won't bolt up. I've never heard of people blowing Avenger diff's TBH.
-
Hmm, i think my old Hunter's one was wider then the Avenger.
Avenger diffs are stronger anyway man, there's still a few lying around the country.
tga meet up and cruise??
