  1. hey yeah well the guy i brought them off siad he was running them on his 180hp rally car the only

    reason he took them off was he wantd to move the motor bak more but would of had to

    cut the manifold and didnt want to do that so went to webbers ive been told they are easyer to tune

    but its all new to me i know one thing they sound fuckn awsome once i get them running right ill get a

    power run done the engine isnt to far from standard just a balance and a really light flywheel

    and a slightly polishd head from nismo but ive taken it for a drive and it brings them revs up really quick

    ill get a video of them and post it for you guys so you can really apreciate the sound lol.

  2. well i got busy this weekend chucked the mikunis on put a fuel pressure reg on there

    as the pressure was overflowing the bowls and pooring in to the ports they seem to

    run prety gud up in the high rpm but at idle they start to fowl the plugs up need to

    do some research on the best way to tune them but overal happy with how they run.

  3. Well finaly the engine has been pulled down and put back togeather properly thanks to Nismo.

    The car is painted thanks to D.P.N.S and its all comeing along quite well took it out for its first

    drive today and it went really well only thing that let me down was not haveing a spring on the

    idle control screw which i didnt realise till i got home and the fiberglas bonnet flexing when i

    went over a 100 k but i will strengthin that some how running the bottem end in on a head

    supplied by Nismo with the standard 32/36 and once we feel its run in anuf will be upgradeing

    to a bigger head with the cam rockers and valves out of the head i previously brought turned out

    the port job wasnt so gud on it at one point it actually flowed worse than a standard pinto in the

    exhaust side. Nismo is building me a up a special head so should be very interesting heres a couple

  4. hey mate im haveing the exact same problem i find if i get it warmed up and take 1 and 4 off 2 and 3 will run sweet and if i take 2 and 3 off 1 and 4 will run sweet im running the same ecu as you but with the electronic dizzy and ive had the same problem with 2 dif points dizzy's replaced the leads run a relay so the comp and coil are getting a mint feed the only thing left is the coil and ive just brought a msd blaster coil which im praying will fix my problem when you put a timeing light on your crank does the marks jump around abit ? as mine move acouple cm's back and forth ive thought maybe a fuel problem ? but if you can the spark doing that it has to be electrical.

  5. the oil pickup was sleeved ill be pullining it apart soon i think i confused you with the tappet clearance i meant .003 well it says .03 on my feeler gauge but thats in mm and its like paper thin i read something which siad not to let the engine idle on its own for the first 15mins which i didnt i keepd the revs up i think the engine will be fine once the clearances are set properly and i work out wats going on below well hopefully is there anyone in chch that would be willing to stop by and have a look ? i have no contacts in the motoring world it really sucks

  6. yeah well i got it to be reliable i think it must be a meshing problem also i have a flywheel from esslinger with a spacer plate on it which is made of alloy i think the alloy spacer plate might be warpd this would caurse meshing problems ? and yes it is for a pinto.

  7. well ive taken the rocker cover off the cam looks sweet theres alittle bit of wear but its smooth as i think the tappet clearances havent been set proper i was told it was all set up already but obveously i was stupid to beilive them ive been told you check the clearance between the cam lobe and rocker i carnt fit anything between them at all so id say thats the tapping noise comeing from the top ive emaild the place that done my head for the clearance's that it should be but they arnt emailing me back it siad on the cam sheet that had set something to .003 tho or something i carnt even fit .004 under there....

  8. ah yeah well i didnt know bout that but i did hold it at somewhere around 2500 rpm for a fair while b4 it would idle the engine actually cost me alot more than $2500 lol id say more around the 5000 if you look on my thread it tells you all the cam specs etc the head cost $2000 to get done now that was profesionaly put togeather i just bolted it on had all the wearing in grease on it etc some one told me that the tapets were set rather tight there is some tapping noise's in the head and i could hear one down below when i got under the car but i think its comeing from the gearbox well it sounds like it is the tapping noise in the bottem was there from the first start i think maybe somethings hitting something in the sump or gearbox i may have to pull her apart again :( its up to 170psi on all 4 now

  9. they basicly bored it out balanced everything shot peened rods etc but no they didnt put it together i did the ticking noise im abit unsure it sounds like a bottem end knock but its continuous im thinking it may be the sump hitting the xmember i set the cam timeing to tdc if thats what you mean if not ive proberly done something wrong which would really suck the tappets were set really tight so im thinking maybe thats the ticking noise the engine was rather noisey tho which i dont like ..... but it quitend down after the second time i started it

  10. hey guys i brought a high touque starter motor for my engine a gear reduction one 4.4.1 gear ratio now im assumeing its not going to crank as fast as a stock one but is it normal to get alot more noise from them like a whineing sound ? my engines not exactly high compression so im thinkin i just wated $300 when i really didnt need to.

  11. well i finaly done some more to the esky engines fully in exhaust all hooked back up brakes hookd up removed brake booster modded one of the old linkages so the mastercylinder sits in the firewall was advised to do this by Hellrazier workd mint earthd my coil properly now so should have more luck with my electronic ignition so prettymuch all there is left to do is get the engine set up to be run in gets some new seats pannel and paint cert :).

  12. im pretty sure it can be used for electronic and points set ups ive had it running on my car before with points i have electronic ignition but it wasnt workin hence y im trying a points dizzy but im thinking the coil must be screwed trial and error ill work it out eventualy lol.

  13. its prettymuch exactly wat it says in the books positive to coil from ignition then negative from coil to dizzy ive had this problem b4 when i wired up another engine ones i think it mite of been a shit earth on the coil it only does it when the points are closed so i mite try it with another coil and see what hapens there .
