If it is reving too hard on the motorway some taller tyres or a taller diff would be a cheaper and much easier option.

Is there a 5 speed box that will bolt up to a 1256 or are they only 4 speeds? Would probably need new driveshaft to if so, looking for a bolt in replacement.

won't realllly need a stronger diff if you're only going up to a 1600, just replace it with a decent standard one, i raped the shit out of mine and it was fine then the guy i sold it to did even worse and didn't blow the diff as such, he snapped it into 3 pieces haha, shitty springs caused that though, cracked by the mounts on the springs, to much pop, lock n droppin' bei.

Auto shaft has larger spline so won't fit.

the tail section on the tina box is an inch or so longer than the esky one, the yokes are the same though, think the only option would be to shorten the std one to suit.

Kinda had the same problem in my mk3, cept it was 4spd to 5spd, i ended up using a auto cortina X member, not sure if that will work though. Any pics?

ypu can get the pads with the elastic round them which don't fly off i found, was either warehouse or repco.
