OK went up to Leyburn over the weekend. They hold some kinda historic races every year and it's a pretty big thing. Basically a bunch of old cars driving around an old country town
My pics: http://storm.elxx.net/alfadog/leyburnsprints/
My brother's pics (mostly the same): http://storm.elxx.net/alfadog/leyburnsprints/e/
I was surprised by the number of S30Z's in attendance. Good stuff.

Absolutely superb man!
Looks damn mint. What's the story behind it? I thought they all came with rear quarter badges - respray?
-
That front lip looks awesome Mikuni
-
Yeah its a C110 with different tail lights. Dunno what they're from though.
-
Yeah see width has a huge difference. It's like those guys who are like omg Watanabes are soooooo cheap in Japan. Yeah, for 15x6's.
-
extremely desirable, a bit thin though.

Please BF, would like to see ...

OK here's a couple
but seriously on your car I'd mount it inside...

Far out, not as big as I imagined it would be when looking from the Sky.
This is the larger Invercargill Wrecker, he also has a whole paddock or two full nearer to his house and one of the other side of town too as well as a fuckload in sheds...

holy crap that's awesome
i'd pick out a car or two of particular interest but....... there's too many
awesome awesome
there's kinda a place like that here, but you're not allowed in (its no longer a wreckers...) and from the looks of the pics you guys have posted, probably 1/5 the size at most
That's just crazy. In a way it's like a museum...

Ya I met up with him whilst in London a year or two ago, pretty much like meeting God.

I <3 AUTOSOL!

I pretty much needed new pants after seeing the Datsun and Mazda dealerships in Gone in Sixty Seconds......
I bought some obscure Japanese cop/sonny chiba movie (this one)cos it had a C110 in it. Does a mad handbrake skid. Turned out to have other rad cars too. Also bought PGC110, which is a movie about a KPGC110 cop car, very cool.

My gf helped detail my car for about 10 hours, only complained when it started to get dark
So I'd have to say both

My mum used to pwn around in a 164, when I was a kid. Truly awesome, Italian gangster, was a V6, but not quadrifoglio unfortunately.
Had enough computers to launch a space rocket tho... I would not want to be modifying it. 2-stage variable valve timing and battery-in-boot also. Alfa's idea of a executive saloon

excuse my possible ignorance but... what was the reasoning of this being gifted to the new owner??
Because Alan is a true gentleman, and Dr. Shimizu is from what I hear a very kind and generous man. I guess Dr. Shimizu loves the car so much that it would be crude to sell it off now. He doesn't need the money, so why not give it to his good friend? Frankly (and I know those who know Alan will agree), I couldn't imagine a better "suited" person for this car.
That's my take on it anyway!

Alan just posted more details about the car in his thread, this car is amazing beyond comprehension
-
Featured in Nostalgic Hero volume 113. Sure to feature in future issues too
-
Long time coming, beautiful car beyond comprehension, if you like Japanese classics, sit down.
Seated? Ok, click.

Diesels and rotaries do not sound good.
And pretty much anything from Ferrari sounds absolutely godly.

Mull's 240Z is absolutely freaking insanely awesome. I'm quite certain it will turn out to be THE best modified 240Z in the world when finished.

Don't really dig the blue Beetle at all.
Know what you mean Callum, I can appreciate the rat rods for all their work... but think it's pretty stupid these days. Some of the other styles that are in the first link though are hot as. Now that hot rodding has kinda expanded to cars in the 50's and 60's, there's a whole new style emerging. Well, probably more than one. Pretty awesome to see the originality sometimes.
But yeah rat rods... just like 'sleepers' - IE poor man's excuse as to why his car looks shit. I'm over sleepers... they're usually so dodgy.

yea i seen you at the spit... umm

I don't know how often this happens as I'm no sailor, but this is weird! Check it owwt
