  1. that was with a $250? panasonic one and it was fuckin wicked/easy to use,

insurance replaced it with a top of line pioneer, which comparitily is a fucking peice of crap & is really picky about aux input voltage etc/turns off

LIAR . , I dig Pioneer and it is better than any other brand except Alpine.

    Exactly - Alpine FTMFW

  2. oh yeah fully. I go to Appco anyway, cunts there seem more onto it than repco cunts. also interested in proiject etc

    Staff discount at Appco 8)8)8)

Try Botany Auto Worx in Botany (obviously), they supplied me with the stuff for the gfs car when the hose to the fuel rail split.

  3. Been a little quiet, but working away with bits and bobs.

And motor wise - I thought it was struggling to breathe.

And whilst at Als Mufflers (fully recommend these guys, awesome job), the Zephyr shared the floor with an Alfa Romeo - some SA turbo thing, limited production run. Looks fucking mean, and sounds godlike.

    Thats all for now :)

  4. Nuova Innocenti (Italy)

Innocenti started just after WW2 making scaffolding brackets, they started making lambrettas not long after and they also made a small two stroke two seater car called a lambretta. they made all sorts of shit under licence (including minis)when they hit the skids in the early 70's De Tomaso (sp) bought the company and called it "new innocenti" they died not long after.

I know too much about scofolding bracket manufacturers.

    sheepers

    Learn something every day.

  5. I flew down to Chch to buy my van, cost me about 500 bucks with gas, ferry and the flight down, and I didnt pay anything for food or accomdation (relatives in Levin ftw!)

Edit - most car auctions on TM seem to suggest about $500 to ship a vehicle from Aucks to Chch or vice versa.

Could try toll or whatever that rail company is called see what they charge maybe

  6. go on.. i wanna know what "ZCZ" is. one and only yugoslav manufacturer is and always will be "Zastava" the maker of the infamous Yugo (as ridiculed in Die Hard3) and numerous oldshool Fiat licenses along the lines of 600, 750, 101, 125, 128 and currently Zastava 10 aka Fiat Bravo. Oh and yes, in Bosnia there once was TAS (i think) that made Golf 1s under licence. thats it BOE .. NO ZCZ, your books can say what they want

    zastava_10_2.jpg

ZCZ is the manufacturer of the Zastava :) So yeah, my books can say what they want - they just back up your story with finer detail :)

  7. Lets start with Z

    total bullshit

dont mistake Yugoslavia for Russia, btw Yugo no more exists as such

I didnt mistake Yugoslavia for Russia, possibly worded badly but was meant to be something along the lines of 'could have put etc etc INSTEAD of what I put down from Yugoslavia. And no, It's not bullshit :)

Anyone who wants to dispute any of the above is more than welcome - I will take great pleasure in making you feel small :) (with factual proof)

One of the GAYEST lines ever in a forum post.

Meh, everyones gotta have a lame post at one point in their life.

ive heard of G, M, P, U, V,W (W being EAST germany) off the top..

why would dutchies name a company "Ruska"?

Ill ad Trabant to that list too

I could ad a few more unusal ones to the list too - but I was just trying to get a full alphabet  As for the Ruska, hell i dunno why they'd call it that, is it sposed to have some significance?

Can provide pretty much every technical spec for any of the cars I listed up there :)

  8. Long story as to why I came up with this list but I did (for another forum) and now curious as to who believes me these car manufactures exist :)

  9. okay after going down to advanced plate and polishing im going to go with them. they do some awesome work. got some chain pipes for a superyacht done by them through work, their "240g" looks amazing. Very thourough. Being local i can also dodge postage and check progress.

muzzie, advanced plate and polishing also do wheels. example (these are just polished, not electroplated or anything)

    mags2.jpg

Will also drop hints for a os discount and see where i get.

Yeah thats the sorta thing I'm after, discount sounds good :D

    Email: jon@gisborneelectroplaters.co.nz

All the work iv had done by them has been excellent quality at a good price!

I haven't had much chrome done though, mostly powder coating.

Oh im not sure on the price but there the shit at polishing alloy wheels!

Seen a set of hot wires they got to near chrome finish.

Going on that theme for a moment, whats it worth to get wheels polished? I'm wondering about getting the wheels on my van polished - but not to a point where they are chrome. They are currently painted silver, but I want that metal look to them.

  11. Meh, the Peugeot 1007 has sliding doors like the side cargo doors of your average van, gives the same access without any silly hydraulics or electrics.

Arnt the 1007 doors electric cause they were complaining about how slow they were on topgear?

Yeah they're horribly slow. I saw that on TG.

Having said that - the electric sliding door on my van is quick as, ditto for the Chrysler Voyager ones and the Kia Carnival.

And Pete - you could put speakers in the doors if you wanted - you'd need contacts in the door and outer frame, but it's doable

  12. Bigger gauge to the heady the better.

Means less volt drop and that means better RCA output voltages which means louder sounds.

And as escortah said - terminals onto the back of the heady will work but its far from ideal and I'd hardly call it safe. Worst case scenario you'll set your pride and joy on fire.

  13. Edit - sorry bout pic size, photobucket meant to resize (like above) but hasn't, so make do lol.

Unlike my red one, the original radio wasn't fitted in this Z, but has been included in the mulitude of parts that came with the car.

It was however, fitted with this, a nasty Audio Strada tape/tuner headunit with a 10 stack Legacy brand changer in the boot.

    DSCF2610.jpg

All well and good - nice and cheap and it worked, sort of. Just a minor niggle - it was supplying 12v to the right rear channel. Odd. Out comes radio.........

    DSCF2645.jpg

    Conclusion - radio stuffed.

Cue new radio :) Panasonic CQC-1333W. Mp3 and aux in as well.

    DSCF2646.jpg

    DSCF2648.jpg

Audio Strada removed from dash mount

    DSCF2647.jpg

Some creative work in the shed and some brackets to make unit secure and harder to steal, and hey presto.

    DSCF2649.jpg

Check front speaker operation - mint

    DSCF2611.jpg

Pull back speakers apart and mount Pioneer 4s into original factory boxes, and sweet, systems all go :) See our guard dog armstrong there too - he's been there since the car rolled off the line in 55 (more of it's history)

    DSCF2657.jpg

    DSCF2644.jpg

Sounds pretty tinny as you can imagine, but fine for the limited amount of use the car will get.

Possibly looking at doing a small sub that'll hide in behind the spare wheel in the boot, in a fibreglass enclosure, not sure yet :). But that's all for now.

Also have just this weekend had a flash car alarm put in, locks disconnected etc (like mine) to keep unsavoury characters out.
