Yeah I'll be at the show with the Datto guys and girls showing support for Kerry with [sQWRT] up from the South Island. BUT don't think I'll end up at the drags at this stage... not too keen on leaving the lil 1200 wagon in the car park so it can get pinched!
So if you are going to be at the show in around Auckland over the weekend, watch out for a group of Dattos around and come say hi!
-
I think you mean THE international pimp
-
Yeah we do them all in place at work too, get plenty of them in each week.
I do ANY kind of mechanical work, light cars, boats, get the odd race car too up to heavy trucks and earth moving machinery etc. You name it I've probably worked on it! That's why I've stayed in the same job for 12 years, get experience in ALL types and makes of vehicles and have worked my way to the top spot!
-
Yeah I've been a diesel mechanic for 12 years, would usually tell everyone to stay away from ANY "M" diesels... BUT as has already been mentioned, if they have been serviced properly etc then it should be an ok buy. Compression tests are done by removing the glow plugs and fitting gauge to adapter where glow plug was, pretty much the same as a petrol except you don't need to open the throttle when testing. Also need to disconnect the elecrical plug to the injector pump so it doesn't try to run while turning over. Just give it 8 revolutions per cylinder. Allow no more than about 30PSI variation between cylinders
It's developed a small diesel leak around the pump. only tiny, but I guess I cant complain. The diesel leak will be from the either the throttle shaft, the o-ring sealing the top housing or where the cold start device is on the side of the pump. All COMMON as problems these days!

I would do a ca18et (s12 and maybe bluebird) nice and easy Im sure they come carburated.
Nope, ET's never came with carbs. The E means Multi point Injection.

Hope all that go have a wicked time!
Couldn't make it this time, kids presents to buy, cars to fix, short of money etc
Better be some pics up of the night though!! I also wanna see K1's ute dry out a patch of driveway and get some smoke goin, time for MORE 1200 rubber on that driveway
-
Well IF I can make it, I'll be keen to come for convoy mish with everyone, as long as I can get away from work early enough!
-
Oh, sorry K2. Just thought it was a combined effort cause it's advertised on the DOCNZ forum too Yes you are right, K1's ute has changed HEAPS though since I last saw it... that's why I only mentioned the 1200, of course I'm comin to see the Crown too! I'm still waitin for a ride in this BEAST!
-
Will have to see how much time and money I have for the weekend. I've SOOO gotta come check out the ute though! But you'll have it at my place for New Years anyway won't ya? Could bring the 240C and crash out in that...
Will let ya know K1

Only thing that makes the difference between 1-3-4-2 and 1-2-4-3 is the camshaft.
The bottom end stays the same with both orders, 1-4 are always at TDC at the same time and same with 2-3, so it all just depends which cylinder they wanted to make fire first.
Michael said bout the 1-5-3-6-2-4 order, they can get REALLY confusing! On a straight six you've got 1-6 together, 2-5 and 3-4. So this means you can have possible firing order of
1-5-3-6-2-4
1-2-3-6-5-4
1-5-6-3-2-4
1-2-6-3-2-4
But that's just with that crankshaft setup... also possible for a straight six to be
1-3-5-6-4-2
1-4-5-6-3-2
1-3-6-5-4-2
1-4-6-5-3-2
Lucky I didn't pick a V10 or something!
-
I might head up to it this time, dunno if it'll be in a Datto or the Primera yet though
-
Yeah the 1600 wagon IS red, but off the road
And the 240C wagon is more of a brown/mustard type colour
Bugger.
-
Oh well, was worth a shot!! Lucky I'm pretty comfortable here in this hole of mine
Sorry Kerryn, that rule only applied to the tent! I don't remember hearing anything about the flat!!
-
Ok, I'm taking back what I said before... Hamilton chicks AREN'T easy
-
Great to hear it was a good night! I WILL be there next time for sure!!
-
Nah fortnightly, I think starting on the 18th?? Looks like I WILL be going now, will have to catch up when there!
-
I'll sure be trying to head up to as many of them as I can this season! Doubt I'll be racing though! Not sure if I'll have any of the oldschool cars there yet either... depends on how late I wanna get home after!
-
TRD CHICK - Just ask Kerryn she'll tell ya I'm not dodgy!! I'll be over there this sat avo to pick Kerryn up to take her to the Datto piss up in Taupo, so you'll get to meet me then if you're home.
HUNTD - So does that mean you're free for an oldschool/DOCNZ meet in town too then?
-
-
Hehe, I wouldn't really know... but then it was a joke
What's fun out that way?!?
-
So full of entertainment! Why bother having the insult thread when this is so much better, and actually directed at someone
-
Haha, I thought ALL Hams girls were full of class ... Or was that easy?? Oh that's dangerous! Hopefully it's forgotten by the time I'm there!
Oh BTW, I've changed the Subject now to make it a Town meet for Sat 12th Nov
Already got your numbers sorted Elliot and Daniel, anybody else?
-
Well my mate/soon to be ex flatmate is coming too.
So who are you? When did you move in with Kerryn? I was going to come round on Sat night but found out she had gone to Auck.
-
I'm already crashing there the night

My first ever car was a REAL Nana spec RT84 Sedan, I SOOO wish I owned that today I've seen a coupe and a sedan of these models driving around here, I've seen plenty of others around from time to time.
