Hi guysMy name's Phil, I live in Whananaki, Northland. I've just inherited my grand father's 1980 mk2 1.3L escort that I've had my eye on for 30+ years(when I started noticing cars I could drive).
It's all original, he bought it brand new apparently in 1980 and never sold it even though he had another car, he still drove this car up until the time he couldn't, it's still wof'd and rego'd and has only done 89000kms with a recent engine rebuild.
My long term plan is to panel and paint it and a great project to work on with my boys, which will in turn inherit it off me, keeping it in the family. And just enjoying taking it out for family drives when it's dry. It does have a bit of rust in the usual places but not as much as some cars I've seen on the internet Now I just need to take a loan to build a dry shed for it to live in, for the moment I'm knocking up a shelter.

Sorry missed it again. I haven't logged in for a while.
I probably won't be coming for a while as we are mostly staying home and not going anywhere public because of spike protein transmission, something which we have experienced first hand and know a lot of people that have had very serious reactions, even though the media down plays it and says it's not a real thing.
I hope you guys have a great time. Hopefully it's not forever, thanks for the opportunity for the few I was able to attend, it was great to get to know you.
Phil
