after a few weeks, and a couple paint colour changes due to what i wanted not being available. finally settled on this colour. 1st photo here is in the sun and its looking exactly how i wanted, shiny, metallic and a subtle colour change as the light hits it. all im saying is, its orange.
and the rest of the parts

Had a little update from the paint shop, surface rust all cleaned up, primed and rust guarded in the rear wheel arch.

whle the bike was at the bodyshop getting painted, i decided to do the wheels myself. I saw online someone using a deck of playing cards to mask off the tyres which i thought was a great idea, paper also works buts as good. let the tyres down, push the tyre back a little and slot in a thin piece of paper overlapping as you go. then simple mask off the centre parts that are to be painted.
Cleaned up and ready to paint
Primed
few coats of black
and after some clear coat, looking not to bad at all.

Hey
Im John, im from Wellington. this is my 1979 Honda C50 build that i started a little while ago. Just got it back from paint so started to build it up again. The plan is to refurbish the bike to a classic look with a modern feel to it. Aiming to have full respray, black wheels, new suspension, solo seat with luggage rack and a Lifan 125cc engine. hoping to keep the original style for now...this may change in the future. so here a few progress photos to start with, ill hopefully keep this updated as i go.
The day i got it.

yup, i think i got it nailed. found these 12mm bushs on ebay
Thanks for you help, that one has been confusing me for a while now!

its more that the c50 has a 12mm mounting hole on the top mount and 10mm on the bottom. is there anyway of getting around this that anyone knows of? most i see for sale are 10mm top and bottom.
