  1. The fibreglass guards I got from a fibreglass guy on trademe up in Auckland I think. They sit proud of the valance by a good 50mm and on the side they are proud of the door by 40mm so would basically require remaking.

The panelbeater is really good but I think he is just concerned that its gonna cost me too much due to the certifiers requirements. I'm personally not that concerned about the cost as long as its reasonable.

If you have the photos handy AvengerTiger that would be awesome.

  2. Howdy all,

I am finally getting around to fixing up my Mk1 two door escort and it's in at the panelbeaters now. I bought some fibreglass bubble arch front guards for it but they are so far from fitting that the panelbeater has suggested that I just refit the old standard guards instead.

I was wondering if anyone had fitted the one piece steel bubble arch guards from palmside before and did they actually line up? Would it be easier to fit the stock guards and then weld some bubbles onto them later?

Also curious if anyone has done the tubbing of the rear for the bubble arches and know the extent the certifier needs you to go to? Do we need to replace the entire tub or can we take it from the seam in the middle.

I'm on the fence about the whole thing, it wouldn't take much work to be standard again but I've always wanted bubble arches. Would value any input.

    Cheers
