Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea of what people are charging for

1) Prepping a 4 door sedan (straight with no rust or major dents) for paint

2) Renting a spray booth for me to paint said car in

Ive been painting for a while for my business and want to do something a little different for a new company car (thinking old school merc or vw)

Do any paintshops around Auckland do this?

Thanks, always appreciate the 2c from someone who has more experience from me. Id also better start looking for some storage/workshop space as my new flat has nowhere suitable to park a car for extended periods of time

Ideally Im looking for something mechanically solid, nice dependable daily driver (when finished) that I can get looking unique with a good stance, couple of aftermarket parts, and some custom paint - I paint for my coffee business and have been hanging out to do my first car (see profile pic for custom candy mazzer coffee grinder I did couple months back)

Thanks guys - The more I look into this the more it feels like biting off more than I can chew (or afford) at the moment. Might be time to dial things it for my first proper project and go for something a bit more manageable.

Hey all,

Been thinking about a project car for a while (not helped by hours of watching Discovery turbo)

Id love to do a classic vw (beetle of fastback) and have toyed with the idea of an STI boxer transplant but fear that it will be a huge hole for every spare cent I have.

If anyones done one or knows someone that has Ive love to pick their brains
