Hi, thanks for that.
I am learning as I go with this.
Since that test I discovered a fault with the alternator which I have replaced.... If that makes a difference......
Another thing. It has a ticking sound when you accelerate. The higher the revs the faster the the ticking. When you take your foot off the pedel it slows until you put it down again. The tappets are worn but not the problem.
Some one suggested a lazy spring in the fuel pump....?
Any other ideas?

Hi,
I have a 1974 Toyota Crown. 2.6 L (2563 cc) 2-valve SOHC 4M .
I have had a compression test done and these are the results
CYL 1 =145psi
CYL 2 =150
CYL 3 = 150
CYL 4 = 145
CYL 5 = 150
CYL 6 = 170
CYL 6 seems really high?
I haven't had anyone explain these result to me.
Can anyone tell me what these results might mean......?
Thanks

Meet 'Old Red'.
I have always been a real fan of the old Toyota Crowns. I would look out every now and then for them. Especially the wagon but hey seem to be pretty hard to find.
I have own 2 other cars from '74. A ford Escort and an HQ Holden Premiere. Being a tiger (born 74) myself, when this one came up I was pretty keen to see it.
Old Red is pretty special. No modifications, straight body with all interior lights and buttons working. Central locking is all good also. Drives like a dream. Engine is pretty good for a 41 year old car and just needs a little here and there to keep it tidy.

Hey. I'm looking to hire a old ford transit van for a movie. Anyone out there know where I might find one? Anywhere in the north island but in Auckland would be best. anyone? Thanks

Hey. Mark here. I'm new to this. I have always loved the shape of the early 70s toyota crowns and have finally picked one up. It's unmodified in sweet condition. Pretty keen to hear from anyone else who owns one. How tricky parts are etc....M
