Good work- 2

good work man! bringing it back from the dead.
A friend of mine had one once, it was so god damn awful when it was stolen the crooks just left it up the road! haha.
are you all up to date with the thread? is she on the road yet?
Cheers for that
Yeah, unfortunately a lot of them are going to 17-18 year olds in NZ who are absolutely destyroying them and making them hideous and rugged. so you don't see too many good ones around I think that's why I like it so much
Awh no, that sucks for your friend.
I cant imagine the feeling of getting your pride and joy stolen and happens far too often hopefully I never have to experience that!
As of now, last picture of it fully primered is current state.
Do believe all it needs for WOF now is...
Window wipers
Tyres on spare steelies
Exhaust holes fixed
a few bulbs
Will update when I take it for a wof, which hopefully soon, needs to go to VTNZ since it's greenstickered don't have one in Waihi.

Okay, so I finally tracked down a rear left door without rust! has a small dent but i don't care just happy i have a fairly rust free car!
Also picked up a working window washer and overflow container and the last 2 lights I needed. So as of now, car is fully primered and I am very happy with where she has gotten to from how I had got her as!
All primered! YAYYY!
(also a sneakey bucket seat in there I traded for some lug nuts, on factory rails even )An old photo of when I took her out for a Sunday drive to work, she enjoyed it considering she mainly only gets driven around the houses she's lived at! hopefully will be back on the road soon enough.
(sanded centres on the Mk2's before I painted them)

Have been doing a bit of sanding and smoothing out of any paint chips and majority of car is primered now.
Also bought some fender mirrors off trademe, they were just a knock off plastic replica crap pair that could barely see jack out of..
Came across this deal of trademe for genuine Nissan Cedric, i believe it was, fender mirrors, a MUCH nicer look to them and can ACTUALLY use the mirrors for seeing things, how awesomeAlso as you can tell I picked up another pair of wheels yay!
SSR Mk2's
13x7 0offset.
They came with sanded centres and decided to paint centres blue, and had left over paint so painted the guard to to kill some boredom!(don't worry its gone now) haha

Next came the doors situation.
Don't know how common it is amongst all older cars but seems to be EXTREMELY common on EX Lancers.
I had a quick look on the side of the doors and thought whoa need to replace these, little did I know the actual extent of how bad it really was until I took the doors off.
Managed to track down a rear right door but no rear lefts in good condition to be found anywhere!
Also picked up some standard EX Lancer rear springs for WOF purposes.Replaced rear door, before standards springs installed.
After standard springs installed.

This thread is a bit of a catch up at the moment as most of the stuff was done before i made the thread, but all done by me.
but just documenting all in the same order its been done just for future reference.
As seen in original photos, the car had no front.
Managed to track down a few bumpers and grilles which anyone anywhere near myself wanted to own the moon in exchange of their parts...
Managed to find a bumper only 30 minutes away from me, $90 I was fairly happy, pretty certain I wasn't going to find another anytime soon. So I shot straight over to get it.(Somehow managed to lose the photo of after I put the bumper on, but will be seen in next post anyway.)

There are actually at least 3 different versions of the 4g32 that I know of and all where known as saturn engines. The early version was sohc 8v using a cam chain and first came in the Galant 16l. There was also a dohc 8v also using a cam chain, which are very rare and came in MR GTOs. The later sohc 8v transitioned from chain driven to belt driven in the late 70s and acquired balance shafts. Looking at your timing cover it looks like you have the belt version of the 4g32.
Oh okay, thats a bit more info than i had come across.
All good stuff to know, thanks heaps for that, appreciate it

okay, so i am extremely new to this whole forum, and cars in general really
I am in the process of researching about putting twin carbs onto my 4g32.
ive been doing a fair bit over the last couple days about it, but have only just come across the fact that there are TWO kinds of 4g32, a saturn motor and another, which i cannot remember the name of...
i assume a bunch of you would know.
but what i am here for is..
can anybody tell, by looking at this photo(can get more/better ones tomorrow) what model 4g32 this is?
I'm curious as i was looking into intake manifolds when i found out there were 2 kinds.
Photo will be in my build thread.
Thanks a bunch for any help.

Hi Everybody.
Welcome to my first ever post on ANY forum
so please excuse any mistakes I may make(hopefully none)I'll like to document my(very slow) build on my 1982 EX Mitsubishi Lancer
I bought this car off my boss as a crashed, green stickered, no rego'd car
they had left it to sit underneath a few trees at their house and I said time to give her up Scott(my boss' name)
so he finally gave in and sold it to me. $800 later which i was happy with
So hopefully it will end up how I invision and hopefully with a fair bit of help along the way from you lot
Here is the car how I bought it.
