A mate of mine owns Automotive technicians on commerce st in Frankton. Genuine guy, will work with/around you.

Phillips tubes from JA Russells, Ideal Electrical etc pays to change the starters while you're at it too (S10). Cool white is the colour choice I tend to use in garages.

Won't really be brighter as such as you can only use a certain wattage but colour choice will affect its appearance plus being new should help.

Mounting an AGM battery in the boot, will it need to be in a box like a normal unsealed battery or will a base plate with four m10 8.8 bolts through the floor with washers and nylons underneath and a metal strap holding it be enough?

Cars you own: 2000 Toyota Altezza, 2003 Subaru Legacy GT, 1978 Corona 

Mods to them :

Altezza; Rebuilt engine making 355kW, handling mods to support the power.

Legacy: Pretty much untouched apart from exhaust that previous owner installed.

Corona: Inherited a 99% finished project with a 12A Bridgeport, 48mm Weber IDA's, 2x 2" primary to 2.5" exhaust, Hilux dif, rear disc brakes. Currently sorting through finding all the little missing bits and pieces and quietening the thing down abit.
