I remember reading lowrider mags back in the early 90's and being very confused as to why cars like this would be called Euro style lowriders?
but I think it was more a style of low rider, using something other than a 64 as a base.
something non american.
Also, like this Fuze??
LOL. Yeah I remember that anything not Amurikan was called a "euro" in the lowrider scene no matter where the car was actually from, it never made any sense to me but I'm an East Coast boy. I always thought those lowrider-style tuned imports were ghastly. At that time (late 80's early 90's) there was also a huge mini-truck scene and a fledgling compact tuning scene. Since the 90's the import racers and the lowrider crowd kinda merged into what is now the stance/show car scene, and yeah a lot of those cars aren't really drive-able either. There's still some purists doing it the old way though with high quality builds. Come on, we invented this stuff, haha.
The bottom pic is funny, but that's just a hop competitor, just going for height and a trophy. The jumping Ford Expedition would just break/bend the hydraulics! Another niche scene mainly from California. Different parts of the US do things very differently.

You know when I ran the sleeve-overs with stock struts in my Starion the ride was shit, when I swapped in a set of D2 coilovers the ride felt like stock again if I dialed them to a soft setting, and the tires are tucked. The ride is 1000 times better with the coilovers. Dial them up stiffer and the car becomes a go-cart.

Wow, these were huge here in the states during the 90's. Used to hang around a shop that built them out of basically anything, even put hydros in an Expedition and made it hop. I would not be standing anywhere near it. Never made a lot of sense to me as they always broke but it's a scene. That crazy mural paint work, that's like a California thing.. well lowriders are kinda a Cali thing in general. Some trends come and go, like trucks with dancing beds....

Welcome Fuze, they never sold the wide body ones here but still a handful of members have them. I have a wide and flat side one. (4WStarion on SQC)
Ahhh I see. Small world!

The fog light mod is a common mod, I did it on my 87 Starion. They won't come on without the driving lights, but don't require the headlights to be on anymore when the mod is done. This is basically a one-wire mod, you tap into one of the side marker 12V wires. Check out this post from starquestclub.com, your best Starion resource for this stuff...

That's a sweet looking Starion/Conquest dude, welcome to the fray.
Thanks dude. Haven't seen any others on oldschool yet, but you guys have some cars there in NZ that we've never even seen before.

Tight ride. Extra creds for maintaining the stock stuff, especially radiator. I have no such patience! Reminds me of the 1st Starion I got, 3 Starions ago, was white and looked super crisp in the bright sun. Yours looks like it rolled out of a time machine.
