  1. I have been looking and studying the Ripp Off Valves, such a simple design, yet charging people an Arm and a Leg, causing ofcourse the cheap knock off china crap to be flooded into the market for 1/4 the price of the genuine articles.

Long story short, not finding anything reasonable to buy, tried a few, returned them all, recently a genuine greedy type S I bought had a ruptured diaphram and boy does it leak a lot even with my own diaphram! So looked at those piston types, and all the cheap crap leaks or doesn't work right, I almost had won a GFB Dual Port the other day for around $150 but another prick had to come and win it before I got back. Looking at buying dual ports, gfb or turbo smart types. I curse the companies for charging so much just because they can, I know went into R&D and all that, but just never found a $500 BOV reasonable.

    /end rant

anybody got experience with good BOV's on a budget that wont leak? heck anybody got what I need?

  2. Is it a good idea to put the pressure switch/ hobs switch in the boot as well?

I am installing my Aqamist 1s System and I wanted to ask can I install my Hobs / Boost Pressure Switch on the Trunk or does it have to be near the Engine for better operation? Does it make a difference at all if its in the rear? I figure I can run some vac hose and it would look neat, Let me know what do you think.

  3. I have 1 main bottle which is made of alloy and is 2.5L so I am wanting to set the 10L Bottle maybe 1 inch higher than the main bottle where the pump sucks the water from, so the bigger bottle in theory be gravity feeding the smaller, just need a method of bleeding the air.

Also I thought of making my own little setup on the budget, will grab a plastic black cube box from were house for a few dollars, then use a pure dew 10L distilled water Bottle and mount it inside, the finished product should look pretty good.

PS: So would it be okay to keep the Boost Switch/Hobs switch in the rear then I assume?

  4. I am also entertaining the idea of maybe using some wood plants and some luggage strap to construct something like this, only if the tanks were mountable, life would be so much more easy.

Have a look at proline plastics website they do a range of marine tanks and can put fittings in anywhere you want. A bulkhead holding tank would be ideal i used to work for them drop my name you will likely get it very cheap. I actually used one of their tanks in my water injection system.

Thanks I sent them a email, hopefully they get back to me. :)

Had a side question, about the water injection, you know how you have a hobbs switch to turn the pump on so it can inject water at a boost pressure level, would I be okay putting the switch in the trunk and not the engine bay or closer like behind my dash,

Would there be any delays in operation as it has to travel all the way to the trunk of the car or any boost drops due to distance, this way its cleaners and easily accessible and not to mention more nicer

  5. Yea Thought about that, this one really www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1009544562

But would had been nice to just sort out a mounting for a bottle at home for a few bucks.  Was thinking to use this little drum lol, would had been nice as it has a flow level indicator that shows how much oil/water is left inside.

  6. So I currently have a 2.5L Alloy Tank which I mounted in the trunk, it had tabs, I had plenty of Plastic Engine Oil Cannisters and other crap bottles I could use, but ofcourse they dont have any tabs to mount. Anybody got any ingenuine ideas? thought of making some kind of holder out of wood but would look out of place.

Then figured maybe I can get a alloy reservoir tank or something, or a fuel surge tank and bolt it? Anybody got anything laying around on a side note. Thanks fellas.

  7. Whats the skinny on Wideband sensors? Cant seem to find anything I could justify buying, whats the skinny on the $300 ones? Are there any cheaper ones? I am just going to use it to tune my afr.

  8. Well, I have a supercharged Project going on, and although I wont have issues with the local WOF place, thing is I would like to have it Certed if I can do so on the cheap. Now I am unsure how much it costs but I was told its between $200 - $500, Whats the best way/place to get a Cert for these type of projects and what is involved? What would be the most economical approach to this?

  9. Long time fellas, Happy New Year.. :)

I'm a Whangarei Local and was thinking to bring a car as a project down from Auckland. Not worth much, doesn't run yet..all the other transporting companies seem to charge quite a lot, if you guys knew anybody that knew somebody who may be willing to put on the load for some cash on the low?

    Cheers..

  10. cheers, do you know how much psi the stock pulley makes? is it 5 - 6PSI? (We are using it on a 2.8L 6 pot engine) Also whats a common pulley swap for a bit more gains? i have herd the AC pulley's are interchangable?

will running a intercooler be helpful for lower boosts under 7PSI or cause more lag?

  11. hey guys, a friend and I are working on a small project and decided to use the SC14 supercharger (ya ya we know small but plenty for what we want), for convenience we are wanting to use the SC14 from the 1G, all the ones we see on trademe are from the estima van which is somewhat different, anyway, anybody got any info/lead's or got one to hook us up with?

    thanks

  12. Hey everybody, I have wanted to have a few panels of my car repainted back to the factory metallic colour.

I need my roof, rear pillar and the boot lid resprayed as I have some bad clear coat failure. also some guy keyed my door and a few places too which I need fixed.

Got any places you would send me to that would do a good job and be affordable? Doesn't have to be cheap but its a 20 year old bmw, not a expensive show car. so not looking to spend too much. just presentable. Budget was $400~$600 for everything.

    PS: am in whangarei

    Cheers
