LOL we probable went to the same school

Is the cortina next to the old mini and Subaru Justy at the base of the big tree?  I use to beet on them on the way home from the school bus when no one came to get me.

I went to Oratia primary. The cortina is up at start of road was behind some flax and tee trees but trees may have changed. I moved house 14 years ago and havent been back out there much since.

Its a 180b if you go further up the road there is remains of a datsun 1200 sedan and a 1969'ish shovel nose corona and a mk2 cortina. I used to live up road from there and found them as a kid. They weren't that rusty 25 years ago. Think there was a 120y sedan and a early 80s mirage near by too.

  3. As of today got my 2nd valuation back at $15,000 same as my first one. Now State insurance want a fourth valuation paid for by them as they dont believe my two to be correct! even though the valuations were done by registered valuers and one valuer i used was one of states prefured valuation companys. They are sticking by there first valuation of $7000.

I was told by State i needed 3 valuations the first one they paid for and two i pay for if i was un happy with the first one they had done. So now i think its time to get fair go involved as they just keep moving the goal post's! Its been 6 months since the driver crashed in to my garage and i have done all they asked but they still dont want to pay me what car is worth.

  4. They can shrink if they are out of the car for a while, try leaving it in the sun on a hot day as it should soften it up so it can be streched easyer. ados f2 spray glue is what we use at work for gluing trim back down, just make sure you not going to need to pull it out again as it can be hard to get things un glued if you need to move them.

  6. Insurance has written it of and will pay me out in next month or so, when they decide on how much it is worth after going over the two valuations i have had done. i get to keep the wreak but they have de registered as part of the rules so there is no point in fixing it now, so will have parts for sale soon if anybody needs r31 bits?

  7. small up date, skyline has been valued at $15,000 or more pre accident by two registered car valuers, insurance say car is a complete loss as repairs come to $11,000 even though nobody from insurance has even seen the car. The insurance company is going to get back to me when they decide what they are gonna do as they didn't think a 1986 skyline was worth more then $3000 to start with and didn't think $7000 was right ether so now at $15,000 there getting bit scared!!!!!

  8. the main problem i have is the last two on trademe the same as mine but in worse or better condition have sold for a bit less or more then $20,000 yet they say mine is worth less then an r32 that sell for 8-10g. They say they will pay market value but they don't want to listen to what the last ones have sold for. i was told last time i talked to them i have to get another two valuations done but i am struggling to find any valuers that know anything about classic japanese cars. The guy who came and did the first valuation didn't even know it was a skyline he said it was worth less cos id put an rb20det in to it, my coupe came factory rb20det its the first year nissan used the rb20det. I my self paid more then the $7,000 they offered on a trademe auction and have the recepts to show this but this dos not seem to matter to them. The car is an easy fix its just finding the parts that is the problem.

  9. yeah its turning in to a head ake as now i found on the secound call i made to them today that, they saying they may not pay me anything as there customer who hit my car may now not be covered by them. They have found a loop hole in his insurance policy so they are going to review it, its been almost 3 months since the crash. I have a feeling its gonna end up in small claims court were he pays me $5 at week till day he dies.

  10. Thanks i will contact S124AB and see if he can help.

I just want replacement value for it as that's legally what they are meant to provide from what i was told by the insurance ombudsman who i just talked to on phone. the guy from banks valuation said car was worth a max of $7,000 the cheepest one that is same as mine i could find was almost $20,000. i haven't been able to find any for less then $11,000AU any were on internet and the last one in nz sold on tademe for about $19,000 road legal but it had an rb25det in it and wasn't as tidy as mine. There was a rusty as one that was de rego and that sold for $5,000 about 3 years ago and is being restored by a guy down waikato but it wasn't a top spec one like my one.

  11. Do's anybody know of a car valuer in Auckland who is up to date with current market values of classic japanese cars?

I had an independent pre accident valuation done by the insurance of the driver of the car that hit my skyline and they sent a guy from Banks valuation, the guy was in to v8s didnt see any value in my skyline and said its worth less then an r32 gts-t as thats what all the drifters want not old hr31 turbo coupes.

  12. well after two months the insurance has said my coupe is a write off, have a pre accident valuation tomorrow afternoon, they valuer didn't seem to think it was worth more then $3000nz over phone. will need to get another two valuations done by more clued up valuers if they come back with a low valuation. last one sold for about $20,000 on trademe, so i think mine was worth at least 15g

  13. Yeah that sucks.

Your garage is miles from that corner! must have been going far too quick to make the turn.

(Yeah, one of your later pics gave it away, I recognise the jeep)

True yeah that safari used to stand out, the painter at my old shop painted when we had our works end of year piss up few years back, prob should of waited till we were sober to choose the colour. I ended up getting a minter swb with no rust.

  14. Have just heard from the insurance that the tender for fixing garage door is over and they have a guy who's gonna come fix it, so maybe in next couple of weeks will be able to access the car and get it assessed at my work. I can fix it at work will just depend on what insurance values it at and if can get parts.

My boss said he will get the painter to give it a full respray if its not a write off so might come out better of then went in to this mess.

  15. So this happened last saturday, a learner driver lost control on corner of my road and crashed through the garage door pushing my skyline two meters forward hitting another parked car and had lot of tools fall on it of the shelf's next to it too. The driver had full cover insurance, so now i play the waiting game to see if it be repaired or written off.
