  1. I'd say go pinto, the one thing that the zetec has going for it is that it'll bolt to your current gearbox. You still have to fabricate a water runner to get the water from the back of the motor to the front. You need to machine the flywheel, make engine mounts, install an electric fuel pump, run all the wiring and worry if your ecu needs a corresponding transponder. What do you get at the end? a ford mondeo, nah I'm just kidding, but I think if you're going to go to all that effort you may as well use something with a bit more pep. The pinto is a good motor and would push your escort? cortina? fine. With some carbs and extractors it would sound great too.

  2. sup guise. I'm Matt and I drive an r32 skyline so nothing too interesting to you guys. I had a mk4 cortina for a couple years and have been to a couple of auckland meets. Thought I'd sign up, love the old cars even though I don't know much about them. Have been enjoying some of the build threads and tech articles. cheers

    Name: Matt

    Location: Auckland

Cars you own: '89 r32 skyline

Other cars iv owned: mk4 cortina, 89 cefiro

Mods to them: replaced broken diffs and gearboxs in the cortina. A bit of rust repair. pretty much every bolt on on the nissan skyline / s chassis.
