Love the fact you daily this as well, normally see you on the motorway or round sockburn.
I lose motivation if I can't drive it, sadly its on blocks at the moment. Was a struggle in winter, no heater and always had to have a window down.
That action shot is so epic, has me all kinds of fired up to see some track time in mine!
And reading your thread/stalking instagram, makes me want to do all of the things to mine haha.

I only need fronts and its a lot cheaper to get just s13 ones than mx73
-
So went to the track again,
Gave the mighty 1G hell,
Did a quick wheel alignment at the track infinitely improving the car no more sledge monster,
Bent a MK 1 being overly aggressive, only a 8 so not tooooo cut up,
Adjustable HSD rear shocks and a chopped up front Cusco strut bar helped,
Bucket seat stopped me flailing around the car.
Have decided I like drifting and from now on will forever be broke.
Next up:
N/A 2jz, some proper suspension with down travel, a proper wheel alignment and ditching the fender mirrors in favor of something else.
And a pic of it in full 1G screaming mode:

Pretty sure I saw this 6 months ago at the end of Garlands Road, I remember some 1G noises being made and ways were parted.

Such a sweet build, basically convinced me to keep building mine to go sideways and join the JZ club. What are the S13 fronts like dampening and spring wise?
-
I had the vq25de cefiro, 10/10 would buy another one for daily duties.
-
i dont know if its relevant but i had a vvti 1gfe in a ke70. it went really well and made 154hp at the wheels, completely standard apart from the ecu.
I recently had the privilage of driving a non vvti 1gfe and it was pretty dissapointing.
are you trying to make max power from a 1g or just make it sound amazing and go a little better
More sound amazing and go a little better, Just need a bit more to comfortably throw around on the track. My current 1G is a long way from being healthy.
(A smart person would just got JZ, but there's something about 1Gs)

Ahh never thought about them having had there's lives spent behind a slushbox. I have 2 1g geu bottom ends one with a run bearing and one in unknown condition they've been sitting outside for at least a year, sadly. I have a bunch of files on what parts to rebuild one with but its more aimed at building a gte.
Was also thinking of cheating with the itbs and using a 26dett throttle plate.
I guess Ill do it properly and start fresh.
-
I'm hoping they're the same as i could get a low Ks FE bottom end cheaper than rebuilding one of my geu ones. Be interesting to see if they still kill bottom end bearings.

Sorry for digging up an old thread but saves making another 1G thread.
Anyway looking at piecing together a "new" 1G, but as with anything 1G information is scarce especially talking n/a. Been looking at the idea of using a 1g fe bottom end with a 1ggeu head. Hopefully someone on here can provide info on whether it is possible and what sort of works involved.
Also wanting to know what I can get away with cam grind wise and where to look for valve springs. Already have a spare head in pieces ready to throw money at .
Theres proably almost no gains to be made apart from burning less oil and no strange bottom end rattles but dont think i could handle not having a 1G noise maker

So recently slapped some 15/13kg springs trimmed to sit at 100mm, filled the diff with concrete and went drifting. Got to say the 1G went surprisingly well even though its almost knackered. Looking into putting a 1g-fe block and 1g geu head together with some cams.
Also scored way to many x61 parts and managed to do a chaser front end swap and chucked a bride zeta 1 in after realizing the factory couch wasn't up to the task.

Pic thats missing from previous post
Got some tyres fitted up to my MK 1s, have the fronts all mounted up but the rears will take some work to get to fit. Now just need to sort some more lows and centre caps.

Received this thing yesterday after getting it super cheap on yahoo japan. The mighty 1G has never dorted so hard, amazing what messing with numbers can achieve.

Everything is hooked up according to the diagrams. Can't really check fault codes as the ecu is on its own wiring set up so have no check engine light.

For some reason after putting my new motor in with my old intake/TVIS setup the TVIS butterflies seem to just sit open down low and feel like they shut up high (car runs out of go at around 4k, starts sounding really rich and starved of air). WIth the car sitting there idling they sit open on the spring and the breather side of the vsv is sucking air.
Have swapped out the whole system for another lot and still have the same problem. starting to think its an ecu/wiring problem :/I'm in Christchurch if anyones keen to have a look :DD

Finally legal . Now rocking Facelift Chaser bumpers, Hakosuka spoiler and a small tidy exhaust tip. Got some heavy weight springs eyed up to go low down.

Forgot about this, onto my second 1g geu after the last one starved itself of oil, so now have 2 sitting around taking up space and many more random useless parts.
* Failed a warrant on rust and a page of stuff that after checking was completely legal and not what was written on the paper.* Brought some 14x8.5 -15 SSR Mk1s, Currently in transit.
* Got my turbo set up ready to go.
* Have decided against adjusties but custom made springs to suit maybe a 80mm ride and be super stiff.
* Finish hooking up my power steering hopefully fixing my dodgy steering issue.
* Writting this here for no reason but to remind myself what to do.
WIll post some photos of the cancer when I get a chance.

Only problem I had was getting it half way in and finding it had the wrong sump on it -__-.

So after going for a burn around the hills a few weeks ago my Mark II started making a insanely loud rattling sound (can be heard over the zaust at full song) at first I thought it was the pads rattling but put new ones in and didn't help.
Only seems to happen after a decent right turn, and doesnt change pitch with speed. Sounds a bit like chatter rings, have to either keep driving until it goes away (after everyone in the same suburb has started staring) or slow to under 10ish kmh.Seems to have everyone stumped :/
(I might have to start a thread to put all my problems in )

It may not be up to the standards of the godly Riverside group but, it sounds wicked, is cheap as hell on gas, gets looks everywhere and most importantly smashes tyres .
Managed to score some brand new looking tail lights out of japan, get the fender mirrors on and wired up and bomb the bumpers mat b (looked good until they cooked in the sun).
If anyone wants to suggest something else to do to it go ahead I've run out of ideas.

Well huge retard moment, never did the nut up on the dizzy so fully retarded itself first time it started. Actually gets off its arse now.

Now someones said it, could be the problem. Will jack it up and mess around tomorrow.

Its almost unberable , Everyone thats been in it or driven it has gone on about how much clutch ridings invloved getting it to take off And if you get to a hill dump it into 1st, foot to the floor and hope for the best.

S13 BC Reds in, front now close enough to the ground.
New T3 steering arms test fitted, will permanently install after my next wof.
Pick up 2JZ GE set up this weekend .
Can't wait to get to the track again, should feel like a racecar now.
