  1. After a couple of hours....got a sizable chuck of the undercarriage cleaned up. Still a bit to be done.

Getting Adapters made for the rear so I can use Z31 Rear CVs and shaft without being shortened. All I had to do was flip the CV cage and it has given a 10-12mm gap so can use an adapter . Saves trying to find Z31 R30 R31 etc companion flanges and hubs

  2. The engine I have arrives this month, cant wait!. Has been rebuilt, new bearings, rings. ARP head studs etc etc

Equal length twin scroll turbo manifold with a Holset HY35 turbo, roughly .58 turbine housing.

Should get a healthy 350ish from the setup. Going to use Nistune with 600cc injectors. Blitz front mount intercooler and 3 core radiator

Only photos I have of it are from my mates S14. Hes going with a VQ30DET now.

I was hoping to have this on the road in March but that has been delayed now due to discovering that it has a R160 diff!

Part of me wants to see how long it will last and what sort of mess it would make haha. I have a R200 long nose out of a Z31 turbo with LSD cover but alas - someone pilfered the diff head before I got hold of it. On the look out for a 1.5 or 2way in Japan for it.

New turbo arrived this week, is in extremely good condition so all that needs to be done really is get a big fuck off pair of circlip pliers, remove the compressor housing and give it a bit of the clean n polish goodness. .

    4" downpipe! damnn

Now awaiting for inlet manifold to be fabricated, using a company that hasn't been around long called MAXFab, his skills are excellent as a fabricator so have given him the business. Also waiting for a M10x1.5 to an4 adaptor and braided oil line+ fittings to arrive.

  4. From memory / experience I hope your engine builder knows L series oil galleries well. I had this same procedure done to a l28 to fit my front sumped 240k. The engine builder I used (built Don McLean's engines and the bottom end of samurai 240z) said it was relatively tricky to ensure the boss is drilled to enter the oil gallery and you only get one shot at it. It didn't cost much to get the pro to do.

Yup it was done properly....However, I done this mod to a L28 last week and lets just say.......alcohol+drilling the hole, not such a good idea lawl!! must have been a pocket of rust or cast imperfection, went through the side of the block in one section, plenty of meat around it though.

Pre heated the area and welded it at a very high setting, cleaned up with tungsten burr and its good as new!

Going to be painting bits n pieces off the engine this weekend and hopefully will be back in this week coming :D

  5. Has been a fun filled week! Volk rims and RB26 arrived :D

The engine is almost assembled and ready to go back in, fabricated a T3 spacer for it

2x T3 flanges and 2 sections of SCH40 straight cut, and joined together. Shit load better than the shitbox ones off eBay etc. Speaking of eBay, I ended up selling the HX40 turbo and bought a Holset HE351CW, same compressor but has a smaller turbine wheel and 9cm2 turbine housing, 4" V-band downpipe. Also some ARP headstuds, 2 of the studs I had were pretty fucked and good chance they would have snapped.

Awesome weather today so rolled the guards and fitted the Volks with new tyres, 205/55 on the front and 215/55 on the rear. Sits nicely!

Bit of progress on the engine, L29 has been modified for front sump, instead of extending the oil pickup it has been relocated. There is a boss in the bottom that allows it to be relocated to exactly where it is on L20/L24 front/mid sump setups.
