Been a while since i've updated!!I Have quite a few photos of some of the prep work that has gone into this old girl, its been 6 months or so off the road now so many hours been spent on this i swear every panel was fucked had about 3-4 crashes at some stage, but shes all straight as and have used filler to a absolute minimum and all the rust has been cut out and treated, is booked in the paint shop for the 1/10/13 cannot wait for the finished car and be able to cruise her around in the summer like a wagon is built for! :dance2:

Got really lucky today
Some guy in a surf backed into me, tow ball hit number plate pretty darn lucky I think! no other damage thank god
-
Well actually I never stated anywhere that it was factory and it is unfortunate that you didn't do research and that I am away and could not talk to you about it. I'm not sure what you want me to do, but I will refund you the certification application cost if you are that worried about it. It cost about 500 to get the guy over from nelson.
Boom looks like we have a victory on our hands, chur I am not usually so perswasive but thanks to all you guys telling me I was in my own right to hit him up well I did and it looks as if he's gonna cough up, the story gets sweeter and sweeter

One small problem he's in Canada, his dad sold it to me on behalf I went and seen him and he knew 'nothing'
-
That's not to say I'm going to have no troubles in the future though, I was lead to believe it was factory turbo which it isn't and getting a cert is not just a little issue, it cost money and may need work, it's not like a brought a 500 dollar car other wise I would bite my tounge n move on I paid good money for the fact it was 'factory and legal'
My reply
-
Cheers pal, still getting prepped for paint going back to bare metal guy always seems to be doing something else when I turn up but good things take time and the price is good so can't really complain I just want it done so I can get some tires and start rolling on the mk2s should look lush
-
The thing is I don't think he ever said it was factory turbo I will let you guys have a the auction and let me know what you think, I took it down to vtnz and asked about it to double check and they confirmed it was ment to be a 2.0 piston from factory
-
that's interesting, I have had no issue having insurance or warrants since I have owned it.
You should not have any problems with it like I had, it just depends on who you are dealing with. Im not sure what you would want to do, but again that fact never surfaced for me and I had owned it for a year.4 hours ago ·
that was his reply. whats the best i can do from here ?

Choice video pal, makes me really want to get something similar for my 120y is it much hassle setting them up and getting them running? Much different fuel use ??
-
Hey mate I have a slight problem with the Cosmo, I have found it is not certified for the rotary conversion as I believed it was factory turbo and legal, I can't get insurance or a warrant with it being un certified, what's the go? I brought it in good faith thinking it was legal
Looking forward to hearing from you, cheers Damian
This is what I emailed the previous owner not sure if I worded It right but touch wood he's not a wanker, awaiting reply will post when he does
-
Yes it will need a cert, just because the previous owner was lucky/knew someone who would turn a blind eye and give it a wof doesn't mean anything really
Am I in any position to question the old owner or is it solely my problem now to get it certified as he never told me about it?
-
Hey I just brought. A car with current wof n reg found it has a rotary engine while the rego number shows it having a 2L piston, the previous owner thought it was factory and never had problems getting wof do I have to get a cert ?
-
I am going to approach the previous owner tomorrow wish me luck, hoping to get $$ for cert costs not being too optimistic tho

Engine bay pics
Dyno Tuned at RE Sinclair, Factory Boost 5.5 psi
Microtech LT10s ECU with X4 Ignitor, FC Coil Packs and Heavy Duty Leads (Updates and replaces old dizzy system)
Sweet runner, Starts First pop hot or cold with no smoke whatsoever
Averages 10l /100km open road and 12l /100km around town
And this is the engine tag can anyone help with regarding the motor/shell etc
Also me needs to lower the front I think and since it looks like I'm having to get a cert would my best bet be adjusties? Well only be used for street use.. Do they make Cosmo ones?
Thoughts?
