this has been going around facebook, this absolutely disgusts me and im sure everyone is in agreeance, we've had a stint of thefts in wellington recently including our neighbours b2000 just last night.

yeah am leaning towards an sbc for ease of installation, compact-er size and lack of needing to chop firewall etc, what sort of 3 speed?

yeah the rb20det was mounted as low and far back as they could get it without cutting the firewall

dont want handling to be to big of an issue, but i do want it to handle somewhat haha

yeah the other criteria i forgot to mention is the ease of the conversion, i know mounts etc will have to be custom made but the less that needs to cut up the better

ahh, well thats something i didnt know so cheers yetchh =) im really wanting that idle ae, as i plan on having side exit exhausts as well, can u do 4 lumpy cams on a 1uz?

1uz would only be used to keep it jap/toymota but small block with a lumpy idle is the noises im wanting haha

yeah have to agree with yetchh on this, the v8 idle is the most important part, i just want it to make all the right noises and drive nice enough for long distance

seems 1uz is the way to go on this haha, anybody know if the auto box they run is able to run column shift? thats my goal as spencer said, v8 bench seated weekend cruiser

the $2000 budget was just to buy the conversion, no work involved, looking like 1uz will be it, however any other options would be great, also what gearbox?

i didnt go to powercruise man, the guy i got the corona off threw it together for powercruise, but have seen it on trademe? its awesome man, love that shape my mate matt (rx30 on here) has had one for years, absolutely love that shape cressida ae, especially the rare wagon shape, but yes, 1uz was where i was planing to go but just wanted to see what other options there were

yeah diesel turbo would be awesome, but its guna be v8 cruiser, towing isnt the main focus just a side benefit

yeah i thought it would of bin front heavy with the rb too, was thinking the 1uz would be ideal as there not that heavy for what they are, it is only going to be a cruiser but would still like it to handle haha

jase, the rb was just thrown in, after pulling it out im truly in awe that it lasted through powercruise! the thought of a 1kz had crossed my mind but i couldnt get past the idea of my corona with a v8 and side exit exhausts haha, a 350 is also on the cards as they are cheap and relatively cheap to fix/replace, but yeah another rb/rd is off the cards as it needs to be redone
