I've considered this swap for my SA60. Nice and easy for me as I already have the bits from my 1s. Only thing that's stopped me so far is that most wreckers think because they are a van engine that they are worth something. I would definitely go down this route if I found a cheap 3sfe.

Just checked out your build thread. I'm scared to start taking panels off my SA60 now. You know how rust is... out of sight out of mind, until your WOF mechanic gets curious.

I've got some videos from the motorkhana showing the Epic fury of the Uno. I just need to compress them first so they don't take forever to upload.

Yeah I'm Jordan's brother. Bought the Celica a couple of Christmas's ago off a guy on OS. It's a pretty tidy SA60 coupe (not liftback). Jordan has in his collection of bits and pieces a complete 1UZ in parts and all the other bits for a conversion. I also got a fairly scorched 1UZ off Japawagons which should do for parts or even a functioning engine with a tidy up. Plan is to drop the engine in when I get time and do some hunting on trademe / yahoo japan for a pop-up headlight front and all the body/badge bits and pieces from a GT model. But until then I'll endure the underwhelming 1S.

Mods: Celica: none yet. Have a 2x 1UZ's, one is in mint condition in parts and one is out of a burnt out Crown. Hope to drop one into the Celica at some stage soon, just need to find time and skill (already have most of the parts for conversion.)

         MX5: Bilstein suspension from NB MX5. Getting ready for the remainder of the fiat car club tarmac series.

Oldschool: heaps of mates in oldschool. I've been for a member for ages and go to the odd event including Auckland Synergy Meetings, just never got around to making posts.
