Great Val mate. We had one exactly like that new in OZ in 1968. Was my dads company car. Lots of great memories.

forgot about that.
The escort sump is a rear bowl, whereas the mk1 /mk2 Cortina needs a front bowl sump.
You will need to get a sump of a mk2 cortina, as the rear oil seal on the 711m block is a lip type seal, whereas the early cortinas used a rope seal.
Much better arrangemant anyway

crossflow exhaust is on the passenger side, no problems
radiator support stays the same as the blocks are the same length. a 711m is about 10 mm wider across the block where the engine mounts bolt on, thus the mounts are a bit different. I fabed up a x member like an escort world cup one to suit
