The dont charge the wank tax that people do here. at least single rails have a different shifter location (from 6cyl cortina which is closer to the bell housing by 100mm i'd guess) no overdrive though. shifter housing is usually sloppy like a stick in a bowl of mud. but when re bushed are very decent shifting. Bearded Baldy Posted August 5 Posted August 5 @deankdx i know he wont run a single rail in the jag, was laying groundwork so on his next trip over he brings me a spare bahaha. Sorry for the spam @dmulally, late model ute 6 speeds are poos for ratios, you would be shifting gears like a roadranger. They are also all relatively chonky too. Aside from shifter being a bit far back, old mitsi km132s could hold up to turbo starions and whatnot, and you aren't as rough a driver as most 18year olds who used to have them. 1 1 Quote

I was hanging out for a gearbox with a bolt on bellhousing because that is what my engineer said but if I cant get one then an integrated one will have to do and just get sliced. I posted the isuzu one as although it is a 6 speed, 6th is double overdrive. But I assume you'd never use first. I was boring @chrisR last night about the Commer having a Lexus 6 speed box and with the pissy torque from a 1725cc, it needed a gear between 2nd and 3rd. Annoying. If I could have a 3 speed manual and a bucket of torque I would. Im laaaaaazy but not automatic lazy. 1 Quote
BiTurbo228 Posted August 6 Posted August 6 If the Isuzu box has a double overdrive 6th you could just keep the shorter diff and treat it like a dogleg 5-speed with an extra crawler gear for creeping traffic (or towing, if you're into that). Could be the only S-Type in the world that's capable of pulling a tree stump out What are the ratios and I can work it out for you. 2 1 Quote
Popular Post dmulally Posted August 6 Author Popular Post Posted August 6 Well I went to measure the cd009 gearbox and before you knew it I traded my old quad bike for the box, mechanical speedo cable adapter, and a whole new set of different diesel ratios. Means I have to cut the tunnel but by my man maths the shifter "should" clear the seats. Also swapped an old evinrude 15hp for a 1939 Johnson Seahorse. 6 1 6 Quote
