Truenotch Posted July 6 Posted July 6 oldschool drag day 2026 - Meremere Dragway - Saturday December 12th Here we go again 😎 Enter Here: https://forms.gle/rZXZjXuiqoCMaeTL8 Event Date: December 12th, 2026. This event is open to any pre-1990 car and is always a casual and fun day at the drag strip. It doesn't matter how slow your car is - if it's old, bring it out! Got something newer than 1990, but it's cool? Bring it along! We love to see stuff from the 90s and early 00s if it's interesting. Location: Napa Autoparts Dragway Meremere Date: Saturday December 12th, 2026 Time: 8:00-9:30am documentation & scrutineering Racing from 10:00am - ~3:30pm Cost: $80 entry (early payment), $100 cash on the day Online Payment Before the event is $80. LATE PAYMENTS ON THE DAY WILL BE $100. Please pay early 😉 Spectator entry is free. We will be running the full timing system, which gives you a printed time slip with your ET, 60 foot, reaction time etc. In the afternoon we'll run a DYO (dial your own) knock-out competition. You will need to set a time and try to go as close to that as possible (without going over). The cars are let go on a staggered start, so you need to try and cross the line first while also not going faster than your DYO time. Once DYO is out of the way, we'll go back to grudge racing for the rest of the afternoon. Tell your friends with old cars that they're welcome to enter. We encourage new faces and cars at this event, just like at all oldschool events. Enter Here: https://forms.gle/rZXZjXuiqoCMaeTL8 6 Quote

My mistake was slapping that engine together knowing nothing about it I just wanted to be there on day even if it smoked heaps..... it just smoked its bearings instead. I appear to be able to screw a new engine together better than a free one and can tune way better thanks to "HP Academy" * 😁 ive got a bit of coin in this engine. *non sponsored plug. Seriously its helped heaps 2 Quote
Thousand Dollar Supercar Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Is there gonna be DRATS? We could go on a cruise to the Auckland CBD and get fined for accidentally driving in a lane that's only open at certain times. 3 Quote

mjrstar Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Is a non wof'd car with a MSNZ log book and cage ok these days? Quote

oldrx7 Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Out of curiousity (if anyone knows) how do some events get away with no wof/reg requirement? The recent rollracing series is one of these events. Quote
Truenotch Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 They might get around it by having their own insurance that's external to Meremere / NZDRA. Kinda similar to how Lemons can run non-homologated cages and 200 cars at Hampton Downs for 24 hours, but Motorsport NZ event promoters aren't allowed to do the same thing. Quote
Popular Post RXFORD Posted July 9 Popular Post Posted July 9 Imagine if OS Drag Day opened itself up to no reg no wof cars. You'd have half of Te Kamo bringing their clunkers down. 1 10 Quote
igor Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Might find some of those guys at Parakao Dirt Drags. Think that's on this Sunday if the weather doesn't completely turn to shit. Might end up being mud drags. Quote
