braydon765 Posted June 25 Posted June 25 A lot of you have probably seen the build over in the projects side and someone asked me to start discussion about it which I thought was actually a good idea, so here’s today’s progress. This is a garage not a panel shop so no fancy spot weld guns here, just chopped nails for the slide hammer to do it’s thing and get these panels straight 😉 I really should have done before and after because these dents were actually pretty bad, the ones on the car body were very sharp and deep like someone had stabbed it with a fire poker or something and the boot looked like it had been thrown around. 6 Quote
mlracing.co.nz Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Didn't really know there was much of a 210 presence in NZ so this is cool, watching with excitement Quote
Flauski Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Good to see you are steaming ahead with that car. Certainly rare in NZ and most have rusted into oblivion. Murray Fullerton in Auckland used to have quite a few parts and his son had a real tidy sedan. He often sells BMW and old Nissan parts on Trademe. Your car appears to have changed quite a few hands over the years with minimal done in between. I thought c210 crossmembers were essentially the same as C110, in which case to fit an RB all you need is the front bowl sump and dipsstick from a Z31 Fairlady 200ZR (factory red top RB20DET). I used to have one of those sumps. Love it. 1 Quote
braydon765 Posted June 27 Author Posted June 27 Yeah the guy I got it off reckoned he had it in storage for 12 years? You’re right though definitely sat for a long time with nothing done to it, wof stick has it last on the road in 2002. My mate has a 280zx and that’s what I’ve been using as reference for my subframe setup as it seems to be very similar, so the research I’ve done on putting the rb in is based off what people have been saying online about doing it on the 280. braydon765 Posted June 27 Author Posted June 27 More progress today, insides of the doors prepped and painted, hinges too 😌 gonna give the paint a few days to cure then get these doors back on and can finally start finishing the main body work getting it ready for body paint Before: After: 6 Quote

The main difference is S chassis are rear bowl sump, skyline C chassis to R30 front bowl sump. With the C110 and a front bowl sump its literally slot some holes for motor mounts. Quote
braydon765 Posted June 28 Author Posted June 28 Ah ok good to know, I didn’t realise that. I’m still a ways off getting into the motor but when that time comes are there any photos of someone else’s setup in a c series? Quote
Flauski Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Yep I was trying to find some but couldn't remember where I put them. I will let you know when I find em. Quote
