The 4agze isn't dead

Gidday.... heres some 4agze build spam... so a few years back i binned my long run with turbo setups in favor of a 2zzge, then i found another chassis for that swap so wanted to try something i made fun of for years.

I rebuilt a small port 4agze (arp rods, race bearings, deck, 0.8 gasket - the basics for a strong enough package. Sc12, 165mm Cusco pully, front mount IC and T50 box at the time. I was using parts i had lying around so it was a real throw together. 

Never had a supercharged AE86 so was pretty exited to see how it went. Was expecting 180-200HP. And was something new for Karl Skewes and to tune 🤙

Then... I dyno it and it made 101wkw 🤭

Specs:

AE101 Small Port 4agze rebuilt 

Decked block, skim head 0.8 TRD gasket so hoping compression around 9.3:1 arp studs and bolts, race bearings.

TRD cam gears (they do nothing)

Cusco Engine mounts

Run Free Headers

SC12 supercharger 

540cc injectors

165mm pully and ABV blocked

Front mount from turbo setup

Nissan Cops and SQ alt relocate

Exedy Japanese Heavy Duty 215mm clutch

T50 gearbox + Short shift

Custom Driveshaft to G series

101kw no good... so... I thought bigger pully,  cams and an NA 4age throttle body.

Tomei Pon cam 264@8.1, T3 175mm pully, Bluetop 56mm throttlebody

Retune and - 120 ish wkw - this was a good gain and it started getting fun to drive!

Let's see how far we can go? 

Next up- SC14, RWD Intake Manifold and same side intercooler swap. Its an easy fit with a crown charger, which is already 5pk and has spacing not far off the factory ze mount - you just need to trim both sc and mount lower tabs, clearance a couple things, modify one pipe and secure the top. Brendan niteparts sorted the weldy bits for me.

Now its mean! Loud and makes good power. 150wkw, still revs out to 8k but power whomps in instantly.
