shizzl Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Anyone in here contemplating entering chrome showcase? clubs can enter a few cars together. @MRWEST & @Avenga are you taking your stunners? im considering taking the ute. any others keen and meets the criteria? Quote
Snoozin Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I'd rather set my car on fire than run another OS club stand for that lot after the absolute scam of last time we did it. Pay for X amount of space per car and get short changed with no refund. Yeah no thanks. 2 1 Quote
shizzl Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 No entry costs for this event. i hear you on that, bad experiences can really put people off trading again that’s for sure Quote
Snoozin Posted June 4 Posted June 4 That's something at least, sounds like its vetted too which means less chance of sub par vehicles on show. Quote
shizzl Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Yes, I went for a look last year. the hot rods that were on display were next level. Probably never driven, but so mint. plenty of “tidy” clean street cars too Quote
RXFORD Posted June 5 Posted June 5 My old work neighbour Peter Ellmers who was Kicker/Mothers Nz originally started Chrome as a track day. He judges at Sema each year with the Mothers team and is still involved in the judging and organising side at Chrome which is likely why the quality and variety is a fair bit better than some of the other events here. 1 Quote

Those hot rods are unreal. Grossly undriveable on our roads, but the attention to detail and finish is insane. you can tell someone with a clue has had good influence in this show Quote
RXFORD Posted June 5 Posted June 5 To be honest I didn't go last year, but he came round not long after the event and was rattling on about how well it went. Said he would like to see more of the kinda stuff thats at my shop (early jap & minitruck) but I said they would have to be open to 'half built / in progress' projects for people to be keen. He said the Club display side of it would be perfect for that. So food for thought if anyone is thinking about it. Quote
shizzl Posted June 5 Author Posted June 5 Definitely need more of the mini truckers getting theirs rides out Quote
