gibbon Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Pretty niche question, but i have a plugin link g4x for the rx7, and it has the option to change from waste spark to direct fire by reusing the pin normally used for the air con clutch (to signal the last coil). I would like to use this function but in my great wisdom I completely stripped everything extra out of my loom before realising I still might want that particular wire I have an expansion loom that plugs into the 4th optional plug, can I configure one of those pins to be the 4th direct fire signal? or are the original functions of the g4x baked-in and unable to be relocated to the expansion loom? kpr Posted March 10 Posted March 10 If your expansion has ign drives 5-8 on it. should be able to re allocate one of them. needs to be an ign drive, not just a normal aux out 1 Quote
gibbon Posted March 10 Author Posted March 10 thanks for the reply... it looks like the expansion pin does have ignition functions (why would a 13B need eight ignitions?) I thought that the expansion loom plugged into the 4th main ECU plug (I hadn't actually opened the bag) but I see now it's much smaller and looks like it connects onto the board itself. Presumably the "expansion loom 1" and "expansion loom 2" are two separate locations on the board. So I guess the ecu can be told to use ign5 on the expansion loom to fire the 4th coil, rather than ign4? Quote
kpr Posted March 10 Posted March 10 The plug ins are based on the xtreme as far as know. So they have 8 drives. Yeah that should work. Will double check on the software for you later Quote
kpr Posted March 12 Posted March 12 yes assuming its a s7-s8 plug in that will work. s6 version doesnt have the the extra outputs Quote
gibbon Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 uhh, this is more of a question for Link I suppose, but I have three expansion loom plugs, and they don't match the pinout in the manual? Quote
kpr Posted April 5 Posted April 5 They probably updated the board but not the manual. your board says v1.5 , manual in pc link v1.4. same in the bit of paper that come with it? Quote
gibbon Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 I haven't got the bit of paper in front of me... but I guess it's good enough to trust what's written on the board itself, rather than what the manual says? Quote
gibbon Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 oh here we go, looks like the additional of the extra external connector and the swaparound of the pins was during model change v1.3 to v1.4. So this is a 1.5 and I can't see anything that details the changes, but this board does match the layout of the v1.4 external connectors listed below Quote
