oldrx7 Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 I'm sure it won't be a POS for long in your capable hands. As the tile says, I'm sure this will be an interesting build thread. 2 Quote

VitesseEFI Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 I know nothing about these…. But I take it that is not the engine it was born with? Quote
sheepers Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 yea you're right, its the same family of engine, the mighty M series. the M stands for mistakes. the original engine was a 4M (4 generations of compiling mistakes) this is a later later model 5M (fifth generation of making terrible mistakes) with a twin cam (but only 2 valve because 4 valve would be a good idea) head. 4 1 4 Quote

kiwi808 Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Well I’ll be following along to see how this goes. Your build threads are awesome. Hope you don’t sell it as I really don’t need any more cars. This would be super awesome with a rowdy as fuck 13b J Port. Just saying! PS. Found this picture: 6 Quote

RUNAMUCK Posted January 18 Posted January 18 It's remarkable how not rust fucked this car is. Especially given A, it's a 70s Toyota. And B, the guy you bought it off lived across the street from the ocean. 1 Quote

Yowzer Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Not a fan of something "so basic and so old" Swaps out for carburettors. Lol Just put triples on the 5MG you dork 1 1 Quote
Roman Posted January 25 Posted January 25 True but then what else is he ever going to do with a 4M thats sitting around? Early ECUs are so punishing to deal with that I think I'd rather have a carb too. 2 Quote
