Great mission and write-up

I kept wondering where the original diff of the car went to, not all that surprised that you got the same one back.

Where's the engine from it gone?

Yeah! Small community innit..

They drove my car round the block before tearing it apart and sold the bits to a guy in Auckland, so I’m thinking mine might have been healthier than Auckland guys and he’s swapped motors?

I liked the bit where the diff was the cars original and you just happened upon some wheels that the hubcaps fit.

A+ can't wait to see what you do with it

I suppose they were thinking LS1 and 9"?

My neighbour has 3 buick engines, two in cars and one that has bearing issues but they are later nailheads and nfs.

I can see why most people change to an open diff from a torque tube but pretty sure that one should have a reasonably tall ratio being late 50's so as long as parts were available it would be worth using.

You are right, I’m under no illusions it will be a ball-tearer. Everyone raves about the smooth ride and I’m into that . The trans is also particularly slushy so full cruiser spec

That is such a cool car.

I love 50's buick's.

Also you are absolutely mad, I was half expecting the end of that story to be "Yeah so I got the thing running by the end of the weekend and drove it back to Christchurch..."

**Youtube** "I brought a container load of kitset Buick sight unseen, will it run and drive 1500km home?" **Youtube**
