Getting license soon and so far plan is get poppas vy and chuck my hoard of parts in it. My mate got a manny vx and it came with a spare box  in the boot, found a guy with clutch, pedal box and flywheel guessing im gonna need a different driveshaft if i decide to go thru with it apart from those what else do i need?

Just buy a car that is already manual. There's no point screwing around doing a manual conversion. 

Also, girls don't actually care about holdens.

Car was owned buy my poppa so holds a special spot so wont ever be sold. im happy to dick around and pour unnecessary amounts of money into it

My mate has this factory manual s-pac id love to buy it but i do not have 6k so buying his questionable spare trans is the best im getting

It won't be sold but it sure will be scrapped if you dick around with it.

Will do everything i can to keep that car going, its a ecotec box and its been done heaps wouldnt do anything going into it blind and have dad to help  hes built a lexus v8 swapped triumph so have more than enough brains to get it done. Will be a car i chip away at wont do the swap anytime soon but would like to get it done

Who cares what op wants to do with it. Best way to learn is by getting stuck in and it seems like he has parts available anyway. He's only asking for advice on other parts that might be required. Probably the wrong forum/ car club however...

At the end of the day i want a manual commodore and why not do it on the car that will always be around and that i would genuinely enjoy more with a manual

ok on the basis of that last post I'm gonna give a serious answer and say compare your trans tunnel and crossmember to the ones on your mate's car. They might be different

 

Also how the speedo works. You may need a manual gauge cluster as well.

 

And a manual centre console.

I know tunnels are the same and the auto consoles have a rectangle/square  bit where the shifter is that id cut out and just put a boot on, believe speedo plug can be made to work with manual box, will take measurements of my mates cross member and probably just make one

Picking up koni adjustable shocks and a genuine holden lip kit that is color matched already tmrw should be pretty baller for a learner driver, sadly am stuck with a bluetooth transmitter till i buy a facia for my headunit

Guys are supposed to spend all their money making questionable modifications to their first car the wrong way, before crashing it. This is the way of the world.
I was stuck with a cassette adapter for the head unit in my first car. I would connect it to my portable CD player, because this was back when we still wore onions on our belts.
