Engine hasn't turned since 1987?

That's going to be a challenge.

Have @ajg193 or someone make you something that you can bolt in place of the crank pully and weld and old 3/4 drive socket to it?

1/2" might not be enough :)

Shouldn't be too hard to make a plate with the same PCD as the front pulleys. The radii fits into a circle 6 times, so it's no biggie to make the holes with dividers, and centre punch/drill them.

Then weld on a hefty bit of RHS with a 19mm ID. (Is there room to get a BIG milwaukee ugga-Dugga in there?) If not, a breaker bar with a bit of pipe over the handle. And then use a trolley jack to lift the car off the ground off the end of the bit of pipe.

The internet says that a mixture of ATF and Acetone GHFWII for penetrating stuck bores.

When I first saw it, when Charlie was alive.

he said he’d had it out when some folk had visited and they started it….. I thought he’d ment in recent years but I’m guessing not

Simpson beat me to it, but Im sure 50/50 Acetone and ATF is the go to, then working what movement you can day by day. Rather than trying to force it

Surprisingly little, truck sized radiator and aircon all jammed in there

that probably all needs to be removed tho for recon so might just strip the front end off as it’s all surface rust

/the copious oil/trans leak seems to have preserved everything behind and under  the motor

As above. soak the bores, put the plugs back in after just hand tight so doesnt evaporate as quickly..

remove crank pulley and make a plate with a bit old socket welded to it in the centre to put a 1/2" power bar on it.

just wiggle it bit at a time and dont force it when it feels tight, dont break a ring or 5.

cool project.

Probably better off just taking the motor out and seeing what's actually stuck.

Turning it over with rust in the bores is just going to root the bores for future use.

If it really hasn't done much use then it might just need a hone and some rings .

What a project line up! I'm very jealous. I used to own a luxobarge early 80's caddy and spent far too much time trying to make what I had work when I should have just turfed it all for something simple.

Do you own a borescope?

Good stuff. Make sure you share the pics please! It should pretty quickly tell you if it's worth jumping on the end of a 6 foot cheater pipe hanging off the crank bolt or not.

Ive seen people make an F shaped tool or use a pipe wrench around the rim of a crank pulley to turn engines , obviously if you dont care much for the pulley / willing to risk it for the biscuit damage wise.

Those bores look like they shouldnt be causing a major problem.

Have you tried just turning the pulley by hand to check other then the click click of the key and starter sounds?

Hows the oil level and condition?

Unless there is condensation thats run down and made a pretty solid lip on the ring thats hidden by the piston? but normally see more rusty shit looking in the bores.

also, was that the 50k camera? LOL

Yeah, if Uncle Bob did start it recently after all, perhaps the engine is OK and the starter's just not working when in the car. Have you tried starting the car with the lights on? Lights dim when trying to crank engine = starter is drawing current = more likely that engine is seized.
