Estima 1998 2.4l, automatic - Sluggish takeoff in first gear

Hello, the last few days when I start the car, but only when the engine is warm, I have to press the pedal a lot because the engine has no power, but as soon as I start the car, it's fine. It feels like the transmission is stuck in second gear and doesn't automatically go to first. and today the o/d light on my dashboard started flashing. But when I stopped and started it again the flashing stopped, but it still has no power.

Flashing o/d light means there is a trans fault code. It will be in limp mode. Check fault codes by connecting TE1 & E1. Count the flashing light on the dash, then google the number. To clear the code, disconnect the battery.

Have had the starting in second gear a couple times with Aisin transmissions, both times was due to popped capacitors in the trans control computer.
