Popular Post sheepers Posted May 14, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted May 14, 2025 Rail is back in. It's not great but it will have to do. I have a lot to learn about mig welding but I gotta start somewhere. Something that I did learn really quickly is that hot bits of metal rain down on you constantly and you get burnt to shit if your just wearing a t shirt 38 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted May 20, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted May 20, 2025 Well, things got messy. Mainly the floor, and me, whilst the underside of the car got a whole bunch cleaner. Subframes out then waterblast the underside of the car. I chose a really cold night to get soaked to the skin with freezing water, so that's good. It's super clean now, bit of a wipe with some brakleen and I can put some epoxy primer on the underside. So keep me right people, I was planning on, Epoxy primer over the steel/old underseal Then seamseal everything Then underseal Then colour and clear Sound right to you? 33 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted May 21, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted May 21, 2025 Tomorrow, paint. 32 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted May 25, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted May 25, 2025 Plans changed a bit. I sprayed underseal everywhere and I was going to finish colour and clear yesterday but the underseal wasn't dry enough. so I stripped the suspension, sandblasted all the big bits then set about painting them, unfortunately the primer was still too soft to colour over so I had to call it a day. Probably blaze some colour and clear on it tomorrow night if it's not too cold. Also, my spray booth cupboard thing is pretty good at taking the overspray and putting it outside the environment. 26 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted May 31, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted May 31, 2025 I have achieved things. Some of the things, in no particular order, are Add wires that hang down. Install axel shafts that stick out at forehead height. Paint two things silver. Fill the petrol tank with water. Put pipes near the floor of the car. Install the most convoluted clutch pipework weirdness I've ever seen 28 Quote
sheepers Posted June 5, 2025 Author Posted June 5, 2025 Help, I need a new windscreen wiper pivot bush mount thing. My one is fucked. If you know of anything please let me know. Thanks! 1 3 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted June 8, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted June 8, 2025 I painted some things. And I made the bracket for relocating the PS tank a bit better. Haven't finished painting that yet. In theory I'll get suspension bushes early this week then I can get it back on its wheels. 36 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted June 9, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted June 9, 2025 Got the bush/balljoint kit delivered so I put all the suspension back together. Unfortunately the rear balljoints were the wrong ones so I couldn't finish the back. Should get replacement ones on Wednesday. The castor arm bushes were huge with flanges on each side and there is no way on the planet I could have pushed them through without a press. With a press however the job went really easily. 34 Quote

Popular Post sheepers Posted June 20, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted June 20, 2025 I'm trying to get the motor back in the car. Couple of mods that have been made to the engine that I need to unmod. There's no feed or return for the heater because racecar so I need to reinstate them. Block part was easy, I found a spigot off a 5M that I could make work by drilling and tapping the blanking plug. easy. The other bit was a bit more fucked so I ended up making a whole new one out of stainless. is made from the hot water feed pipe for a 1UZ idle speed controller that I managed to get out of the aluminium body, a bit of 19mm ss tube and a generic 16mm ss bend. added a bracket and Bob's your wombat. 22 Quote

Popular Post sheepers Posted July 3, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted July 3, 2025 Fuck did i have some issues getting it running. On the plus side I now know what every single wire on the ecu plug does, and that it's properly connected and working, as well as 90% of the entire cars looms. One i got the thing to actually run i thought the sensible thing to do would be take it for a drive. It's still running like a dog but I drove it anyway. Fuck it's choice, even though I've only driven it 10ks in a fucking cyclone I can already feel how amazing the thing is. I'M HAVING A BEER WHO'S WITH ME!!!!!! 65 10 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted July 6, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted July 6, 2025 I still can't get this thing to run right. I'm fucking pissed off with it tbh. Is the same motor and ecu that I drove into my shed with no issue in a different car and now it won't run for shit. It's got too much fuel at idle and goes lean at throttle input. Is like the fuel controller is backwards. I haven't checked the pump voltage yet because I decided to do something to actually make progress. So I went back to being an upholstery expert. A very shit one. Whatever, so i pulled the front seats apart to see if I could swap the cushions and covers left to right. Seat base i was able to swap but the seat backs are too different left to right to make it work. I washed the seats too and got a mountain of disgusting shit out of the fabric, then I put them back together. They still look terrible. Maybe I'll die them to try and hide some of the sun fading. 24 1 Quote

Popular Post sheepers Posted July 26, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted July 26, 2025 Day 2. Yesterday I got the air and water temp wired. Coils, map, cam and crank and both knock sensors are connected. Today, more wires. 34 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted August 5, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted August 5, 2025 Stuff has happened. I'm installing, a link fury New bosch air temp sensor Oil and fuel pressure sensors Oil temp sensor 1000cc high impedance injectors New fuel pump Wide band o2 sensor Boost control solenoid Reinstating the factory idle speed solenoid and air chamber As well as rewiring the entire motor and all the ecu to body/atessa connections. It's about 80%there. I've still got to install and wire the oil and fuel pressure, weld in the o2 bung, wire the o2, make a signal smoothing module for the tps to atessa feed and some other stuff. The wiring looks a mess right now because it is but at some point it will look slightly different. 34 2 1 Quote
