RWD 1NZ daydreaming - J160 3SGE Bellhousing drawing

Does anyone have a J160 > 3SGE Bellhousing drawing? A couple of people have talked about RWD 1NZ's and I can get my hands on a 1nz and c56 to get that side of the drawing, but J160 is a little harder. If I could draw an adapter I can prototype it out of ply/mdf with my laser cutter and I'm super keen to see how doable it is.

I can 3D scan my spare box tomorrow if you want. Do you need the housing removed, or can I just scan it on the box?

Nah I just want the face that mates to the engine. I'm gonna play with a sandwich plate that either bolts to the bell or welds to it. @Roman reckons 4k bell is similar to 1nz too, so will do some research with @Dudley, I think I can probably get my hands on a 1nz

@Dudley and I went for a Sunday drive and came back with a 2NZ. They’re a dinky little engine. There’s a lot going on in the sump that would complicate the crossmember a little.

Can you lay the engine over and take a photo of the sump? Shouldnt be hard to recut a flange then fab a new sump as required? Or make an adapter for a differnt front sump pan like @Roman did?

The sump on these are a lot more complicated, because the cut line is up around the centerline of the crank, rather than having the block extend down past everything. 

So you'd definitely be modding one, rather than remaking one. 

But another thing is, with the motor being so small you could possibly just have the whole thing sitting up above crossmember anyway and would be sweet. 

It's hilarious to see how short that motor looks when sitting on top of that crossmember, haha.

Yeah, when we were out at Marino's we were saying it looked like a bike engine crossed with a SIlvertop. The biggest issue I see at the moment is the space between the "oil pan" and the bellhousing mount is quite short. The webbing will need to be cut out to sit over the steering rack, and the cross-member will most likely need to be scalloped to fit around the "bowl". I'll grab photos of the sump soon.

Wouldn't a T-series gearbox housing bolt up to these? Based on if a C56 can be bolted to them, them surely a T50 would work too? 

 

Every time I see one of these I need to do a double-take cause the valve cover is so similar to a 2zz, just weirdly slightly smaller.

The c56 1nz bellhousing is 1nz specific, so theres no direct bolt on for a t50

But has anyone ever had one of these heads on a flowbench to see what they flow?

The way I'm interpreting the above is you'd need a really small recess in the firewall to get the entire engine behind the subframe. Then the sump isn't an issue where shifter comes through is way easier to fix.

There is a guy on YouTube that changes 4AG cams through the oil filler and exhaust. This is where @RomanDayf changes his rods

Then @Roman found this drawing he'd done which gives me an idea of the J160 pattern. I'm also gonna draw up the 4K pattern and see how close that is and @Dudley is bringing me a 2T bellhousing too.
